This is really Doncic's team to lead... James is still solid at some level but let's get real. He's 800 years old.

When you're 40, it takes a 24/7, 365 days a year program to get/keep your body in condition to play NBA basketball. Any injury, even a minor one, that undermines that program can throw everything off.

    He’ll be fine.
Come back sometime around game 10, play the majority of games, b**** and moan near the trade deadline that the FO “isn’t doing enough for him to win,” and then be injured again by the second round of the playoffs.
Thank God we now have Luka!
    We love Nico!!!

I gotta read this book :D. Either LeBron and Pelinka sound made for eachother, or this is why they clash, couple of phony bulls*****ers.

well, with stuff like this, all points of view are probably valid. This kind of stuff is why I think Kobe was so good. If you didn't tow your own line, Kobe was clear with you and didn't mince words. He was really hard on the guys he did not like and they were not long for the Lakers team. I think Kobe would have handled Westbrook with a much more real approach and even if Westbrook didn't like the results, at least he would have known Kobe was honest. Lebron appears to be passive aggressive and will just end out backstabbing you behind the scenes, rather than confront you head on.

Everything tracks out based on their personalities. I feel bad for talking bad about Russ, he looks like a real one

He had no problem being entitled for his cumulative resume and being surly with NO accountability for his level of play for that year and a half. Continuing odyssey, now 3 teams since Lakers.

Every word of the article could be true and frankly I still wouldn't care. Russ was a bad basketball player while he was here, and LeBron was an extremely good one. I don't know why LeBron pretending The Godfather is his favorite movie would frustrate Russ so much that he refused to set screens or actually pay attention when he was defending off ball.

This really just highlights the entire problem with Russ tbh. He fancies himself as a "real one" who doesn't take s*** from anyone and just does what he does. That's the whole problem. Rather than changing his game to work around other (better) players, he prefers to just run full speed into a brick wall over and over.

LeBron has a cringey, passive-aggressive personality. I don't much care for his leadership style. But the guy is (IMO) the 2nd best basketball player of all time and has gone to the Finals 10 f***ing times. He knows how to win games in this league. A 33 year old Russ who had just been rescued from Washington should have been bending over backwards to make the pairing with LeBron work, on and off the court.

Oh, I agree and am actually a fan of Lebron's game, to me he is a very good player. He is not my favorite Lakers player but that is a very VERY high bar and I don't hold that against him. All that being said, he has his limitations and there are aspects of his personality that may not work for every other player. But that could likely be said of nearly everyone playing today. There are not many players I would want today, over Lebron.

I never had these thoughts about Kobe, Magic or Kareem. I worried Kobe would be too tough on some guys, Kareem would be too quiet and needed help being more communicative, Magic's problems didn't really surface as a player but we all know his limitations as a FO guy, where he did not seem to excel.

To be real, when we hit 40 the vast majority of us can take 24/7, 365, anabolic steroids, HGH, and blood transfusions from children, and we still won't be able to reach the athletic primes we were in in our 20's and early 30's. Lebron is just a different animal.

I mean, so Russ wanted LeBron to just say he was trash in those games? lol. I mean, I would have loved for LeBron, AD, or Rob to just come and say “look everyone. We really had no idea Russ would be this god awful and we’re sorry to everyone for our role in bringing him here” but I understand why they never have. Lol

Meh..Lebron never wanted Westbrook here, that was AD 's pick. It was rather obvious from the jump. Unfortunately Lebron and AD stayed hurt so, it was doomed from the start anyway. However LeBron did see some value in Westbrook, in that his 47M expiring contract, could be flipped for the guy he really wanted...Kyrie Irving. Welp Kyrie had an Israeli meltdown and that was enough for Rob, to rebuff Lebron on picking up Kyrie.

There goes the root of Lebron and AD, drifting apart IMO. AD was getting tired of the way Lebron moved, and was starting to buck the program. I said earlier that previous season, that AD was acting like he was getting fed up, with Rob, Ham and Lebron. Ham got canned but we hired Lebron's podcast partner, with zero coaching experience!
Then he had that interview with Shams, and I said afterwards, that I expected AD to ask for a trade that summer.

Then BOOM!!! The Luka trade happened. No I didn't see it being Luka, but I wasn't totaly shocked, that AD got moved. And NO..I don't believe at all, that Lebron didn't know about it, and neither does AD IMO.

Ironically AD ends up with the two coaches, that he won his only chip with, Kyrie Irving, the guy Lebron coveted, and the 1st overall pick in the draft in Copper Flagg! A team seemingly built to expose our biggest weakness. Lack of physicality, poor rebounding, and an aging Lebron, still being the best 3/4 option on the team.

I'll go ahead and say it now, I have this feeling, that we are going to have to face Dallas, to advance in the Playoffs. Possibly in the Conference Finals. Yeah...the media is going to make it all about, Luka getting revenge on Dallas. But I'm looking at the AD, aiming to finish off the Kang angle. It going to be an epic series.
