Gabe Vincent Discussion: JJ Would Love 10 Gabe Vincents

So we should sign a role player, that had a bad playoff run, or no run at all? Lol..WTF are talking about man?

 

At least that player won't cost us over 10+ millions a year. I rather roll the dice on someone for cheaper and higher upside than those that performed well on contract year.

 

Like who specifically instead of Vincent? That kind of stuff sounds great in theory. Strauss looks pretty good in Cleveland

 

vincent basically was exactly who he was in miami here, imo. the numbers say the same.

and he's another guy that the luka trade turned into a misfit. before luka, i think we needed a gabe type. after, no. same way that the luka acquisition changed my thoughts on what kind of center to pursue. we have to play differently now.

gabe needs to be moved to upgrade center or for a quick wing. we can replace gabe with a vet min. or bronny maybe, tbh.

This was the first time I saw the Cardio Gabe nickname. not sure @FrontOfJersey22 came up with but what a classic.
This is up there with Hot Plate Williams and the White Mamba Scalabrine.
Hopefully Gabe doesn't live up to that moniker this year

 

I can’t take any credit. I think the first time I heard it was watching one of Trevor Lane’s videos.

 

yeah, it's more than a little concerning that all of a sudden the guy we hoped we'd signed two years ago shows up just in time to cash in again.

though i do think part of it is that he--like many players--plays better when he has more minutes and responsibility. i just don't know if we have the right role for him.

if we do, it may actually be as the 5th starter?

 

I don’t mind him as the 5th starter if he is playing good D and hitting shots. We’re still a big team

Luka gets to win 6MOY and take his gaming a little more seriously.

 

That's the problem if he needs that upped role. as a ball handler he's behind Luka, AR, Bron and Smart. In regards to touches he's behind Luka, Bron, AR, Ayton and Rui. There's not a lot there if he's looking for rhythm and if he's getting those kind of touches, things went incredibly wrong this season.

Hoping he has a few more games similar to Flagg's welcome to the NBA game and that can be a trade sweetener in Jan/Feb. Maybe we can find a few games on second nights of a back to back to let Gabe be Gabe

What happened to contract Gabe: we go cardio Gabe again. 3 points, 1 assist, no rebounds from a starting guard. my god

 

in trade, he's an expiring contract. jj has said he likes him in any role, so even "cardio gabe" is someone we see as at least somewhat valuable to us. and to be fair, if gabe was out there firing up the threes he put up in that dallas game in a real game...he better make them all again. because all but one of those were just bad shots, lol.

my bold gabe prediction is that we'll trade his expiring to a tanking team; they'll cut him, and he'll sign with a contender and help them win a playoff series, lol.
