I think James is going to retire if we don't get to the Finals. Everyone expects him to do this grand farewell tour, but he's always moved different.

    This is strange for sure

Why hasn't he welcomed him yet?

    No time?

    Being petty?

Making sure DA knows he's the top dog?

Like above … with no reach out to Deandre when allegedly was happy having a talent like Luka come in who will be more impactful this year on steroids if healthy in peak condition and looking to destroy, and the team is already stronger than last year. Don’t get me wrong I want him on the floor but this kind of bleep pisses me off too because in LA it’s just fodder for everyone with a negative angle covering the team. He just seems in a snit over not getting his “usual” extension. It’s NOT about competition.

If it was Davis, he would have welcomed Ayton...

Who cares if he didn't get a text from LeBron. Ayton doesn't seem to care. These are grown men.

Well you’ve seen what the press with an ”angle” have already done because of how he’s acted since the one year only extension and he and Rich’s passive aggressive crap in their comments. THEY do.

Meh... I think YOU and others, are feeding into this negative Lakers media stuff too. And can't see the forrest for the trees here.

That man is about to retire dude, he didn't ask for the 1+1, you guys keep getting fixated on that, but you aren't considering the most obvious reason. There wasn't anything to negotiate. Have you noticed that Rob hasn't said anything about it, neither has James?

He's posting stuff about the wife saying 1 or 2 more years, and it's a wrap, Bryce saying that people are OD'ing if they think LeBron is going to still be playing at 42? He's 41 this season! It's the first time he's not taken 1+1 contract option, he suffered the 1st knee injury of his career, against Minnesota? Jeanie is still in charge, and Lebron is still her super hero. He'd get whatever he asked for, he didn't ask for an option.

This is Chip or bust bro, he might retire anyway with a chip. I'm willing to bet on this one, James is really about to hang em up. He's not looking for no damn trade, Lowe and Windhorst are correct and that s***, isn't making any sense.

These writers keep saying that something is different but they aren't exactly sure what? Retirement is actually coming, that's what's different..

    IMO

^...the media sought not to leave some parts of Ayton's comments in:

According to Ayton, he’s already been talking to Doncic, but has yet to hear from James since signing the deal.

“Not really yet,” Ayton said when asked if he’s spoken to James since signing on ESPN. “But I definitely got a text from Luka. I know how the offseason goes — this isn’t my first rodeo. People are probably busy training and spending time with their families.

Ayton is closer to Doncic to begin with.
