Lebron isn’t racist, but man a lot of people seem to sure wish he was because it fits their agenda, I see that thrown around so much with no actual proof. To me it’s like one of those celeb rumors that’s spread around and gains traction because people want to believe it. Take this for example, people liked to clip the quote to make him look racist, when in fact he was talking about how he thought as a kid, not how he thinks now

It takes 2 seconds to do a google search to find that info, but I guess it’s a lot easier to just not look it up and going on spouting what you believe is true, despite providing no proof. Come on now, if you’re going to make a claim as large as racism, you need to back it up, or at least bother do the research to see if you’re spreading claims that aren’t true. I’m sure one could find something LeBron has said before that could he looked at in a certain light to push a racist narrative, but I’m also sure that if you did a deep dig into every social media post or public comment most people have made, even a joke around their friends, you could claim “racist!” if you tried hard enough, none of us are perfect.

Honestly it's exhausting and the few that spit that rhetoric I've found it's better to just ignore them then to engage with the trolls.

Cite them then. You don’t get to claim someone is racist and provide no proof. That’s not how it works, despite so many these days thinking that it is, it’s not on me to prove that he isn’t, even though I did provide an example.

Do we really want to invite sirron to do a deep dive and muck this thread up now? Leave him be with his forever dislike/hate of LeBron and frequent “sniping”. Better than the first option in my opinion.

If you don’t recall some of the tweets and the things that he has said, I don’t know that I actually care enough to go looking for them. He deleted most of his comments after the fact, so you actually have to find the people who saved them and did the screenshots while they were up. Then he thinks better about how it comes across with public perception and deletes them.

it’s not something I say lightly, but I do have a busy couple months ahead of me as I look to move and relocate, so I probably won’t spend the time to go fishing for the info. Had I kept the website up and running, it would be pretty easy to reference. I know this because I posted it on that website.

for those who don’t believe it or can’t remember it, I don’t really care. My goal is not to make you hate LeBron James. I don’t care if you dislike him at any level. He’s a phenomenal, all-time player, and the Lakers have been lucky to have him on their team.

but he is who he is. I don’t feel the need to sugarcoat it.

didn't like his "lose as a team" answer, tbh. he's not wrong, but it just felt more like deflection via the use of an obvious fact. nash's face kind of confirms that for me. like he was expecting a more interesting, thoughtful answer, and lebron wanted to be let off the hook, so they moved on.

it would have been interesting to hear lebron reflect on what nash was actually asking about--what happens to narratives when "lakers" is attached? you can tell nash was probably speaking from experience (i.e., how much struggles were magnified when he came here after playing in dallas and phx). the reason this interests me is that luka is going to deal with it now. you can already see it on this forum, where his entire thread is about him being a fat loser instead of one of the best players in the league for many years running.

anyway, i think lebron's at peace with losing to minny because he got hurt and he knew reaves was hurt, we were centerless, and we weren't going to win three more rounds in the playoffs even if we did win the first one.

Yeah, he was a bit too quick to pull the "lose as a team" card for my taste too. Because if they won, he'll be front and center taking plenty of credit. Like the series that made him the greatest of all time in his mind. How about his teammates. Can't have it both ways all the time. Too many people have receipts on what you say.

FWIW, I have read a number of things he has said over the years that I did not like, nor support. I still am glad he has been a Laker and have mostly enjoyed his time here. That being said, I never wait to listen to what he has to say about the world. He shows up getting quotes on various news shows and I literally turn it off ASAP. He seems like he would be right at home working for Al Sharpton. Whatever, I don't care much, but I have NEVER been one of those guys who idle worships people. Lebron is a great basketball player, I wouldn't vote for him to run my state or country. Everyone has their opinion, who cares!??

He needs to say 2026 is his last year. Most of us don’t give a s*** beyond that. His constant choking at the end of almost every close game has run its course.

When did he choke? Furthermore if he retired today, what do you reasonably expect to get, for that full MLE it opened up? Another Lebron James caliber player, 40 or not?

He's still significantly better than everyone else on the team, besides Luka.

kind of yes? i mean, he starts saying you can question what you did here or there, but in the end, it's really everybody else, right?

no. everyone can question what they did, including you throwing the ball to the other team.

he could have walked through specific moments where he fell short and then just said he knows his teammates are doing the same thing.
