Almost A Laker… Williams Trade Rescinded!

The Hornets look like absolute clowns after that statement they put out yesterday.

 

Just when you thought we were done with that shady team. They're trying to stick us with the tab. You f***ed up and were caught. Got to eat it and accept that you eliminated any trade value that he'll ever have. Not to mention the distrust throughout the league. And when's an update coming on the Nurk deal?

so...did they hold williams out of a game because they think they're going to get the trade to go back through?

given what the cba says about how trades work, i see no path for charlotte here. and their desperation to make it happen makes it seem even worse as each day passes.

if he's not damaged goods, be happy he's still on your team and put him on the floor! if he is, the lakers had every right to back out of the trade, and there's no real recourse here.

 

Imagine his disappointment. Like seeing a mirage of water in the desert, only to end up more thirsty than before. Brutal.

 

i feel bad for williams here. had this trade not happened, he just signs a big extension in charlotte and nobody bats an eye. now i feel like whatever turned up on our medical evaluation has really dashed those chances.

we probably did charlotte a favor, tbh. williams is the one getting screwed by fate here.

 

Yeah, he's going to feel this one. Not to Luka's $100m loss but still. Luka is going to get paid like a top 5 player (cause he is) for the next decade+ . Williams won't see anything close to that. He might not even make what Luka lost as his career earnings. His medicals just cost him all future leverage for awhile. Not just with Charlotte but the next team too.

Maybe we told him we still want him on the Lakers, but we couldn’t give up that much in trade based upon what they saw. Maybe there was a way to leave this on a positive note with him so he is still a possibility to add to the roster in the future.

 

What else is he supposed to say? "Lakers were right, im almost a cripple"? There are millions at stake here, generations of Williams' people being set up for life. He'll ball out tonight... or he'll go down in the 1st Q. We shall see
