He's a shotblocking, lob threat with a C.Wood build. Not my 1st or 2nd choice at 27M per, he's under contract for 3 more seasons after this one.

Feel like Craig has been mentioned as a target in trade proposals with the Bulls before on here.

Hey is there some point we can pull the plug on the life support equipment for C. Wood and declare him out for the year and open up a roster spot?

He can't be added to a trade either. Might as well keep him, he played with Luka in Dallas. We got Bird Rights on Wood next season.

Same Ole aggregate stuff.. He's on a vet minimum contract, and we over the 1st Apron.

    Well..take that back on Wood..that's a 2nd apron restriction

I believe Wood can be added with another player, but you can't aggregate more than 1 minimum in the deal.

I thought that ended after a certain date, like December 15th with players signed in the offseason? Could swear I heard on multiple pods that we can stack minimums now.

Yeah..I don't know about stacking, but the aggregate stuff is a 2nd apron restriction.

yeah, i'm down for what jsm said about shifting to lob threats, but claxton at 27 per long-term...i'm actually out. you can find that elsewhere, cheaper, imo.

we can afford to be more strategic right now.

difference being vando had been a vital part of a winning team, whereas wood's only been a statpadder on bottom feeders. except here...where he couldn't even statpad.

I wasn't aware Claxton made so much. Yeah I'm out. I would pay that to Turner, but not Claxton.
Sharpe and Rob Williams can be had without giving 1sts, maybe a 1st swap. I would try to get deals like that. Maybe Eubanks, Isiah Jackson, Stewart.

Torrey Craig and Bamba are free too.

I would very tempted with that AR for Turner and Nembhard deal

I think our big swing is next year, using Kleber's expiring. It's the type of deal that elevates your team because you're trading a non-rotation player for a good player in the 12 million range.

We need 1 or 2 centers (I think Hayes fits better this system with Luka), a defensive wing and a POA defender. We have Rui, Gabe and vet mins to offer.
I think we get a center and a defensive wing in a trade, open a roster spot for Craig or similar and bring Reddish again to take Max role.

i mean, we probably have to keep him because we'd have to pay to get off him. but i wouldn't lose one wink of sleep if he just disappeared off the roster with no trace. he's just of zero consequence. reddish has done more for us.

Get Vucevic for a 2nd or two, and we'd have 31M in expiring contracts this summer. Hell if we kept Gabe..make it 42M

Meh..an overaction for a guy at great value. ..I'd keep Wood, the situation has changed now with Luka. I'm not going to blame a guy for getting injured.
