It'll take 2-3 monster games from AD like we see all the time and Max to get enough minutes and freedom to start dropping some 20+ point games like he already did once here. Then their tune will start to change a bit. That defense is going to be something.

yeah, the disrespect for AD is taking the shine off this fan moment for me. b*******. the mavs fans have a right to be confused or upset, but AD can play basketball.

this guy sacrificed his prime to play second fiddle to a guy i think he was better than. the team never once tried to optimize his skillset in terms of team building. he didn't complain out loud until the very end, and now he's f***ing kwame brown? gtfo with this s***, everyone.

edit: i'm not finished. AD killed his rep forever by forcing a trade to us, and he was met with nothing but mr. glass s*** at every turn. why not 40/20s all the time, AD? why can't you play all 82 like...nobody else in the league does right now? let's leave him out of dpoy votes cuz we're mad about the trade demand. let's pretend like lebron dragged him through the playoffs when AD is one of the very best playoff performers in nba history and hit the most iconic shot in our title run.

his time here should have been better, and it's all blamed on him when without him, lebron would have no more rings and luka wouldn't be here now.

let's get some respect, maybe now that he's gone?

Completely agree. I do hope he gets some respect in a different uniform.

At his best I think he's better than Duncan or KG.

He just happened to play in the 3 ball era and that's his only weakness as a player. (and availability to a lesser extent)

    KG- yes.
He’s not better than Duncan though. That dude was the best player on FIVE Championship Teams.

I understand. I wonder how Duncan would have faired in today's game though. His range was limited, can't really run on a break, and can't defend on the perimeter like Davis.

Davis has been the best switch defender big I’ve seen since Hakeem. He’s way better than JJJ at it. Being a defense first fan, I will miss him the most on that end of the floor.

who's acting like he's a scrub? we all know just how talented AD is. when he's on his game, he's a top 5 player in the league. as great as luka is, losing AD makes this current team worse

In today's NBA AD can't play the 4 without issues.

Your spacing would suffer with another big guy next to him. We tried it many times but it doesn't work.

Even Kyrie needs good spacing to attack the rim. How's that going to work with AD and another center? Unless the other center is a guy like Porzingis who camps at the 3 point line. He'll end up playing the 5 more often than not.

It's really hard because teams go completely small all the times and you have no choice.

I’m gonna miss the monster 25/16 games and him patrolling the paint. Good luck AD

People don't watch games , they're just believing the narratives out there .

Most casuals still believe AD never plays when he has actually played in more than 79% of the games in his regular season career .

    Prime example of this

Duncan is a bit overrated in my opinion. He gets this strange pass that lots of other players don’t and I just don’t understand why. He was one of the top players of his generation but seems to have supplemented Kobe in the top 10 amongst most casual fans.

And it’s largely due to his late career ring and the finals appearance the year before that. But I’d argue he was just a good cog in that team and not its best player. So we’re talking about the best player for 3 rings and then the second best player for his 4th ring and then a good role player for his 5th ring. Yet Kobe is brought done because he was 1B for 3 rings and the top player for 2 more and another finals appearance. It’s just odd that he gets a pass on rings 4 and 5 and his other finals appearance, when no other players do.

Duncan is a great player, one of the best bigs and rightfully an all time great. But he isn’t better than Shaq, Hakeem, Wilt, Russell or Kareem. Heck he is lucky Barkley and Malone couldn’t get over the hump or that KG had such poor management for the majority of his career.

After Kobe’s 5th; I remember everyone giving him his flowers, he had officially surpassed Magic as the greatest laker and thereby Bird, he was above Duncan, Shaq and Hakeem and Wilt and Russell were a different era. At the time it felt like MJ, Kareem and LeBron were going to be the top 3 with Kobe somewhere 4-8. I’m seeing lists with him as low as 15 behind Curry and KD and Duncan who is some what a hipster darling is in that 4-8 range.

I know it’s off topic but it grinds my gears a bit. Duncan is closer to AD than he is to Kareem.

While I am completely on board with the Luka trade, considering AD's age vs Luka's. AD will be incredibly missed.

I still think AD can be the most impactful defender in the league today. Wemby is the only competition because of his size, but I honestly think AD is the better defender nowadays. Of course, that's not all, he is also a force to be reckon with in the offense.

We got a ring thanks to him, and while our results were kinda inconsistent for various reasons during his tenure, the guy himself was an amazing player and a great pro. He really grew on me during these years and was very easily the most dominant inside presence we've seen here since Shaq, and with all due respect to Pau, probably our best PF ever.

I know and understand Dallas fans are upset about losing Doncic, but I hope they treat AD well, because he deserves it, and it's not like he was the one who asked for the trade.

I expect a very loud standing ovation when he comes back to L.A.

Thanks for being here Anthony Davis. You were very deeply appreciated, and I honestly think at least for a couple of seasons, they have the potential for some pretty good runs in Dallas, and I'll be cheering for them (as long as it's not against us of course).
