Max looks better and better with his speed and quickness staying in front of elite ball handlers. Really impressive to see this sustained higher level of POA defense from him. Love it.
…. plus Max is looking better and better handling the ball and looking like he’s at some point going to be creating a shot or two for himself more frequently. Loved the D again, his passing, no turnovers and his 5 3s looking great out there. He’s going to have more in his offense than just catch and shoot for sure.
needs to stop with the two handed dunk attempts. Why always two hands? Small hands so he cant palm? He really is Kobe.
Excellent game Max! Keep it rolling. JJ looking smart putting him in the starting lineup. It’s working.
Last year Pockets would not let this kid off the bench to develop. He messed around and found out that no one puts Baby in a corner. I'm pumped that JJ is giving Max the opportunity and Max is growing right before our eyes.
I owe his success to JJ. JJ does not easily give up on young guys and gives them the chance to learn. I cannot think of another Lakers coach, ever, who develops guys as well as JJ does. He keeps playing guys like Max and Dalton because he can see their skill sets. He gets them into situations that give them a chance and offers encouragement. Max is right on the edge of becoming a big time player. Dalton will be there next year at this rate.
Max's trajectory looks like he'll be an elite 3&D guy in this league. I hope we don't trade him. It will be fun to build around guys like Max, Knecht and Austin once Lebron is gone.
Agreed, trade Gabe Vincent, Wood, DHS maybe Vando if anyone will bite. None of the young core. They are all solid. Knecht will improve.
guy is now stacking solid games of different kinds. just night and day from early in the season. great to see for him and the team.
I'm very impressed with how Max has turned it up a bunch of notches since the rough beginning of the year. As I said in an earlier post this year when he was struggling, he's shown flashes in the past of ability to defend at a high level and knock down open jumpers. He's been so good since emerging as a starter under JJ. So much so that I wasn't sad to see Dlo moved. I like that we are developing him and he's young with a lot of upside. Some folks here were scoffing that he didn't show any potential and honestly I'm not sure what they were watching. Glad he's proven them wrong.
We failed with the black olives and jar of juice for OX with the team record at 30 games .... but Max was another he was completely killing. At least in the time frame we needed him. Maybe a third of a jar and doesn't have to do the juice?
