Another good defensive showing, but his offense was largely a no show. Knew the Kings were going to have a counter to him with Sabonis after the last game.

He owes Rui an expensive dinner for saving the game. Cause if Kings get that ball, they had enough momentum to at least send it to OT.

Even AD's wife was giving him s***

AD shooting FTs in clutch situations is guaranteed disaster. it's all mental too. that loss to orlando got in his head

I get that the best player on the team tends to get the late game free throws, but we need to stop giving the ball to AD in those situations. He's been shaky for a few seasons now. I feel like Reaves is always money from the line at the end of games, he should be the guy.

Wish when AD got pissed he responds like Lebron and ups his game. Kind of soft

A little harsh considering his play won us a championship in the bubble (that Denver series was unreal!). But it’s true that his FT’s in the clutch lately are unforgivable.

I agree and his foot maybe hurting him etc but the dude is talented enough to win an MVP and one reason he can't seem to get over the hump is that he doesn't have that je ne sais quoi you get from truly great players. You can clearly see it even with an ancient Lebron last night he got sick of the Pistons pushing the Lakers around and he almost pulled a win out of his a**. Yeah he missed the game winner but you could see he was a man on mission in those last few minutes.

AD doesn't seem to have that destroyer of worlds, Super Sayan, get on my back and go switch. I hate saying that because he's played thru multiple injuries and the like and he's clearly the Lakers best player now but it is what separates him reaching the highest accolades in the game. Some of it he's a big true but that is the thing with AD he has the ability to initiate the offense, hit jumpers, etc so it what it is

he doesn't have the right personality to be what people around here want. and yes, as pioneer said, it's harder to take charge if you're not a perimeter ballhandler, imo.

the ft stuff is fully in his head, but i think his offensive dropoff is because of the foot. i'm guessing we'd still be running more through him if he was 100%.

whatever, he continues to be the very least of our problems, imo.

Thanks for the update AD. Lakers already had the "will be reevaluated in 2 weeks" typed up on team letterhead ready to go.

f***ing same s*** happened in Game 5 last year: Lakers had AR and Lebron going and were ready to push that series to 6 and he takes an innocuous bump and ended up not being able to use that arm for the rest of the game.

He's just fragile - I don't think you can even call him soft - he's clearly the shown the will to fight thru injuries.

Glad he's not out, and good thing is we have the rest of today/tonight, tomorrow, AND Friday to rest before the game on Saturday.

And we do have a nice 4-game home stand where we can HOPEFULLY build off of this win. I want us to win all 4 of these games, or AT LEAST go 3-1 (kings, blazers and hawks should all be games we win). Winning the CAVS game would be huge...would love to beat the best team in the L. I also want us to establish that we're a tough home team and that teams cannot just come in there and beat us.

Back to AD - super soft that he had to sit the rest of this game out but honestly, I'm glad he got to rest, and now he can rest a bit more before next game which will be yet another tough matchup with Sabonis again (3rd time in what, 10 days?).

Injuries don't mean you are soft, does that mean Luka and the Heyena are soft? Vanderbilt and Wood are just soft too? That BS gets tossed out too frequently around here.

yeah, i like pioneer's framing--he's clearly fragile. he gets hurt easily. that doesn't mean you're a wuss. he's got a weird-shaped body, and things that don't hurt others can hurt him. that ankle tweak last night was pretty minor, and most folks just walk that off and/or don't twist their ankle on the floor.

again, is what it is--his unusual shape (those long spindly legs under a pretty strong/heavy upper body) gives him great advantages but also likely make him more susceptible to injury. zion and embiid are the same but even more extreme, imo. morant, too, in a slightly different way. our greatest strengths are often associated with our greatest weaknesses.

i think he'll be back pretty soon, but i expect him to be obviously limited for a couple weeks, and having an ankle on top of the existing foot issue won't be great.

Actually, I think he could use the rest, lol. The two meetings with Sac and dealing with Sabonis didn't help. I'm hoping we get another banger to take at least 12-15 mins of those mins by Feb.
