I'm not genuinely worried. I doubt we're going to hear anything or if anything is even being worked on 4 AM league office time, 1-2 AM in LA, people have to sleep sometime. The cap was announced, seems even better than we anticipated, Ed Davis cap hold officially came off the books, I'm sure things were worked on last night, specifics needing to be hammered out. Maybe the cap changes players involved, maybe Dallas the DJ situation do as well, who knows. I don't see how this deal doesn't get done, no matter when we hear about it, which I'd still think is some time today.

Would love to see Larry piggyback off this. "myself and DJ have something in common, our word is about as reliable as our FT shooting"

it's far worse. in the boozer case, they couldn't even negotiate when the decision was made to release him, so if an agreement were made, then Cleveland was actually cheating. in this case, negotiations and the agreement occurred during a league-sanctioned time.

this also cost the mavs a shot at every FA that went after Jordan and leaves them with nearly 20 million to spend on junk players if they plan on reaching the cap floor. it's epic, and it's wrong.

I wouldn't expect a lot of news to be had at this time. People do need their sleep at some point. We usually start getting news around 8am pst. Don't quote me on that.

I'll openly admit that I really wanted DJ this year....and I was wrong. Boy did we dodge that bullet!! Thank you basketball gods for blessing us with Roy Hibbert.

    Crap, I wanted him back.

He hasn't signed yet though. Should we lock ourselves in his house?

He's USA Today's basketball writer. He was one of the first to initially report on the deal. He's legit.

    LOL.

Honestly though, I didn't want him back. Solid shooter but awful defender IMO.

The Lakers need to get rid of all the players responsible for the lottery trip except Black and Clarkson.

Sacre and Kelly should be on the chopping block right now.

So right now our depth chart is:

    Hibbert/Black/Upshaw/Sacre
    Randle/Bass/Kelly/Nance
    Kobe/Swaggy/Brown
    Clarkson/Jabari
    Russell/Lou

That's a full 15 man roster. Kelly, Sacre and Swaggy must all be on the block. I really hope we have someplace lined up for them. That Bass signing, while I like him, is looking pretty weird right about now. We got 8 guys manning two positions.

That Bass signing is looking pretty sweet right now to me. I don't want to go into next season depending on Kelly or Nance. That is a great signing.

I like this one a lot too. Bass is going to provide a real nice edge to the young guys. Hibbert is less of a known quality when it comes to being a mean SOB. I think Bass can be that guy and keep our young guys focused inside.
