Kind of stupid to think he can play 82 games after he's successfully load manages for basically most of the last decade and after the Olympics. Frankly he looks both mentally and physically exhausted out there - just not seeing the game like he normally does.

Was really worried the Olympics were going to impact him and AD and looks like that is coming true.

Dude is turning 40 this month. We are playing him at 5! That s*** is crazy.

Damn....look at how far we've fallen since the bubble! We expect the oldest dude in the League to be our best scorer, facilitator , and one of our two most physical players. Every single game! We are living in the Twilight Zone.

He's paid like a player you described , can't pull off the" he's 40 soon" card while he's earning the biggest salary on the roster

The fact remains the same, we knew how old he was going into the season. We haven't done anything to address this issue. Trying to ignore that, and fall back on how much he gets paid, doesn't solve anything either.

AD's our best scorer and most physical player. reaves, russell, and knecht can score, and the former two facilitate. we're asking lebron to be the second-best player on a playoff team, and he's been struggling to fill the role lately.

and yes, the salary matters here, imo. but he's 40! al horford's 38 or whatever, but he makes 10 million per so his team can afford to pay A LOT for their 4th and 5th best players. because lebron makes 50 million, we can't do that. so he has to play like three al horfords. he is not.

No. Lebron is still more reliable scoring, than anyone else on the team. Especially in the playoffs. He is also still by far, the 2nd best player on the team , struggling at the moment or not.

Al Horford isn't even in the same universe as Lebron James. We chose to cut loose some contracts, that would have allowed us, to sign some better players too. That's not on Lebron.

We are the Lakers, not some Mickey Mouse outfit. We chase stars, that's in our DNA. What kind of signal are you sending to post Lebron Superstars, that might be looking at coming here?

" Hey we'll pay YOU, but we're not keen on paying anyone else to come here and support you".

Bump that noise. Again there is enough money going out as is, to be a strong contender, it just needs to be going to some other players, that aren't currently on our roster.

    Lebron is a scrub.

    this week

    he’ll be back

but the scrub moments will increase in frequency. It’s the nature of the beast.

impact-wise, this year, he most certainly is. and it's a down year for horford, too. just not as huge a drop as lebron's.

you're right that ownership could have ponied up more money like phx, boston, gs, the clips, the nets, etc., though. that's true.

but i'll always point to dirk and duncan. when they got old and realized their team couldn't compete with them making superstar money, they took substantially less money so they could compete. money where their mouths were.
