The problem is I see it that Phoenix learned from their first game and the Cavs copied what Phoenix which is to hunt Dlo out of the game. They hunted him down relentlessly

Sample sizes is real small so it's not going to reflect what happened the last 2 games.

A seemingly necessary change, he’s kind of useless off-ball, nice to have a coach that makes adjustments that don’t have people scratching their heads

Good change and it's something that was needed imo.

Love these small littel changes and it got DLO into more of a rhythm. Having him just be off ball the first 5 games def got him off his game a bit...

Honestly when DLO plays well, we usually win games. I think teams have that on their scouting report to shut him down because they know if they do that, he won't provide anything on the other end, making him a huge net negative

How good of Redick to notice DLO and the starting lineup aren’t being optimized so adjusts Russell’s touches up handling the ball and time with AD. Give JJ an attaboy for that move. Immediate good returns on O for Russ and bodes well going forward.

Really need to ride the momentum from that tweak

That was the first time he's looked engaged offensively and anywhere resembling the career year he had last year.

His time needs to end as a Laker teams have him figured out.

Constantly put in PnR or exploit his rotation to the weak side.

On offense same thing as the playoffs team play him physically and in his face so he cant get his off the dribble shooting game to work.

The lack of athleticism is so apparent.on both sides of the ball can't explode past the pressure D or stay with anyone

This is the problem with him opting in and then knowing immediately he's most likely to get traded

He's not playing well right now and I know he'll turn it around eventually but...his bad is REALLLYYY bad

he probably needs to go, but i'll repeat that the likelihood of replacing, much less upgrading him in a trade is near zero.

i mean, we can upgrade from what he's doing now, but not what he's done since he got here. we desperately needed a guard that could score on his own, handle and pass. the second we move him, we're looking for that again.

still think jj should talk with him about playing off the bench. start gabe and see if that gets him going. two birds with one stone.

I was with you before "start Gabe". Had you said "cut Gabe", I'd be right there.

We won a chip without Tinkerbell, he ain't that irreplaceable at all.

lebron was five years younger, and we had caruso, kcp, kuz, danny green, and two playable centers.

his skill set is nearly irreplaceable given what we have to offer. he's a very good shooter and passer, and a credible ball handler. who are we moving him for that is those things? who's doing those things if he's moved?

It depends on who we trade him for, there is more than 1 way to skin a cat. Minn didn't attempt to replace his skill set or production either, they improved their team by getting rid of him anyway though. We have LeBron and AD, they are plenty of other guys in the League that will fit around them too.

minnesota brought in conley, who can do all of those things.

i also think we're learning that not everyone fits alongside our top guys. again, that was more true 5 years ago.

And what has his skill set done for the team?….exactly.He’s plenty replaceable. Its comical that people actually thought keeping these players together for continuity was going to be any different than the last two seasons.JJ is better coach but the players are the players and that isn’t going to change

Well for one thing, we won the chip 4 Years ago, not 5. Russell has had the benefit of playing with a healthy Lebron and AD, in the playoffs since he's been here too. No one else, had that same luxury since the bubble team. I just don't consider him, to be irreplaceable at all. He's a starter caliber player, but he just doesn't really fit with this current roster, around James and Davis, we need a better fit, it doesn't even have to be a guy, that plays the same position IMO.
