He’s not signed? I thought he turned things around already

Meh..Tinkerbell wasn't totally terrible, Lebron just had an off night. It was a winnable game, I wouldn't pin that L on Russell

yeah, weird to me that the bench and dlo are the scapegoats today when lebron put up a huge stinker. is what it is. flush it.

DLO is a “scapegoat” because he couldn’t hit a shot, and was a turnstile against Booker. He’s playing like it’s the playoffs already.
We need reg season DLO to show up for more than 1 out of four games.

He's the one that has evolved less in the starting group. AD, Rui and Reaves have been great under the new system, he's the one that suffered.
I think he really needs to own those minutes with the bench guys. He has chemistry with Hayes. Bron is there and Max too. It's up to us to find which 5th guy works better: Gabe, Knecht or Rui.
Gabe gives you defense, Knecht spacing and Rui a bit of both.

Does anyone know the site with the different lineup metrics?

I'm sure JJ is over it. This is his job. We already have different combinations of players working well, this one is the one that needs work.

I think he can play a big part in what we want to do. He's the only guy that can go crazy and rocket us to a double digits lead in a couple minutes. His energy is infectious when he's going hot. Hope we find a way to unleash that

If DLO is out, why wouldn't you bring in Quincy? Why do I have to endure Gabe + Max trying to play organized basketball?

very small sample size right now, but the three most used lineups are all good so far. and all include dlo.

need much, much more to go on, though.

    I don't know what you're talking about, a 150.0 o-rtg, 88.6 d-rtg, and +61.4 net rtg are clearly sustainable.

Pretty sure we thought we’d be trading him this offseason and he knows it, that’s how he’s playing, like a guy gone through too many seasons in a row on the trade block. Also pretty sure JJ having a plan for him was BS, unless it was “you go stand in the corner”

As soon as the NBA and NBAPA signed that new CBA, that was the beginning of the spike in the coffin on Lakers chances to improve this team with Lebron and AD on it.

Dlo playing like garbage would have usually meant you could get rid of his expiring contract and get someone who may want to drop a good players larger salary but with the aprons and extensive trade restrictions, those days are gone.

I don't know what they are going to do with this guy.

Hard to blame the coach when a guy is just checked out

Just getting killed on defense every single game and he's not even hitting 3s. I get he's being used as a spacer more but he's getting looks and just seems like he's pouting

I'll give the guy a break, he's our 5th best player, and Austin and Rui, weren't exactly, out there killing it tonight either.

I still miss Hedgehog. He used to be able to match up real well against these guys like Garland and when the offense wasn't clicking he could create offense and carry you for a bit.

Dlo just can't do that against good teams

Yes but it was either him or Dennis, he was still in his feelings over the Dennis situation, a year later, one of them had to go. We made our choice, we have to roll with it.

yeah, mostly. if you have two guys making that much, one can't be 40 and the other can't be a guy known for missing time. makes it too hard to make the rest of the roster work, even if they're both top-10 guys when they're playing at their peak.

if he keeps stinking up the joint, you can definitely move him for an upgrade. the issue with moving dlo in the past was that--despite fans insistence--he wasn't stinking up the joint (except against denver in the playoffs). that made moving him a bad idea, as his only value was as an expiring. if he can't make a shot now, we can definitely get someone in here who can do something instead of him. the new cba just means that we can't increase current salary in the process.

anyway, i'm not ready to pull the plug, nor do i subscribe to the pouting theory. i do think his role is different, and he's not as used to playing this way. the three early wins may have made people forget that we have an entire new system, and there will be and adjustment period.

if dlo's still playing like this in december, i'm guessing he'll be gone.

Yeah, I'm not worried about his offense, will surely come together, never been a problem for him. But we need him to improve asap

Starting to wonder if swapping him for Gabe in the starting lineup solves 2 problems in one move. Their both underperforming. Gabe lack of creation works better with the starting lineup, improves its defense too. DLo off bench can fit better for him, playing more freely than he's doing at this point. Knowing he enters the game to score. It's more a mental thing for him, he's already leading one of the bench units, but it may work

missed this. the one thing ham did last year i agreed with was split reaves and dlo. one of them can be the 30mpg off the bench guy (dlo would be my vote). would dlo agree to the move if his role was more like it has been for the rest of his career? this is where head coaches make their money, imo. gotta figure it out.

Him from the bench can also improve his stock in the league. I don't think he starts in many teams in the league, if any. Most stars are guards. So his future in the league is more as a 6th man, like Jamal Crawford was for example, a scoring burst off the bench. Maybe he buys into the idea

Also help us find trade partners, not only teams that can use him in that role, but other teams willing to take the expiring and then flip him for more assets, knowing there's more interest in him
