Jacob, it’s the Suns on Monday. Seems Bronny is only on this trip so he and Pops can play together for the Cavs fans I would bet, as @pika1708 suggested earlier.

those two need the time in the g league, imo--maybe more than bronny even, as their theoretical roles are larger, long-term.

but with gabe and dlo healthy, there aren't minutes for jhs.

Curious to see what he does in g-league. Hope he balls out, we really need him to increase his stock value and not look like a dumpster fire like Lewis if we want to do any type of trade that improves the roster

it's too late for trade value, imo. i mean, he kinda kicked a** in the g league before his injury last year, but he wasn't considered an asset in any trade this summer. now, maybe that was the injury, but i think teams just aren't convinced by g league success.

we should keep him there and hope he gains some confidence that translates. he just looks so tentative on both ends playing with the big boys. it's weird.

Yeah I mean they kind of have to - they can't admit that they made a huge mistake so they'll continue to show "confidence" in him until his contract completely runs out. Plus, we can still use him in trades so better to exercise a cheap option on a sophomore 21 year old guard. If anything, we should be selling teams on the fact that he can be the "next Scotty Pippen Jr!" as we develop him through our G League squad....

Sadly, I don't think he ever becomes better than Pippen Jr...so tragic man

IF there was on obvious vet min upgrade out there, this isn't a no-brainer. but there's not, so you just keep the salary slot. it's still an expiring next year.

He's a worse player. Neither are currently NBA players. You expect that at 55, not at 17. JHS is also worse than Olivari. He's probably better than Max Lewis, but so is the oversized skeleton currently in my front yard.

All it takes is one scout or GM who 'believes' in him. Maybe he has a game where he does a couple of moves that someone is impressed and willing to bet one. I'm not saying there will be a bidding war, but that he at least can be traded for a Nick Richards or something like that
He's not even with the team

    holy s***.

they decided a vet min spot next year is worth more than trying to develop him. that's insane.

i honestly can't see why you'd do this unless you thought you'd need 4 million in expiring money to make a trade and you knew the team you were trading with valued expiring money over a player with potential.

This is exactly what came to my mind the moment I saw the news. I would like to believe this decision means the Lakers have agreed to a trade and JHS's expiring is one of the pieces. Otherwise, I really don't get this move.

….. maybe with a team that is “already” taking back one more player than they are giving us, and can’t roster 3 players coming in? Which of course would also open a spot for released players at the deadline. Shams did say “creates roster flexibility”.

He's definitely getting moved. I'm shocked Rob is already willing to take the pie to the face considering the other players we passed on

The Lakers could have had him and Knecht. Not just for the potential but that would have made one hell of a trade package - Knecht, Whitmore, 2 unprotected FRP sigh from a team with an old Lebron and aging AD would have been f***ing tempting

Welp, the whole world already knew we f***ed this pick...but now this is us admitting it.

Imagine having Cam Whitmore and Dalton Knecht off our bench...smh

I hope we are trading him somewhere and attaching him to a bigger contract to get a nice player in return....otherwise yes this move really makes no sense. Am I missing something here? He was a cheap player option so idk how this helps?
