Well, that's why it's called an agreement and not ink on paper.

    Anything could happen.

I think if DeAndre gets in that room with all those familiar faces, it's game over for Cuban. He's going back to LA.

    WOW

this is getting crazy. what a shady, punk-a**, b****-a** move by an already POS organization.

this could very well mess everything up for us if DJ goes back to LA and dallas gives indiana a better package for hibbert. highly doubt it happens as that would mean the pacers would have to basically go back on their word as well but that would just be devastating for us. but man, i sure do hope DJ does go back to LA and we still end up getting hibbert. i would love nothing more than to see that little b**** cuban cry even harder than he did over the cp3 trade. the end result of DJ going back to LA would be a MASSIVE blow to the mavs

I know this is Jordan's life, his choice, and it's a big one, but if you're torn, don't commit to a team yet. Think about it a few extra days. If this actually happens, IMO the Clippers and Jordan are both pathetic here. The Clippers for going against an unwritten rule, and Jordan for going back on his word and screwing the Mavs. If you commit, you should commit, this isn't college and a kid changing his mind about the school he committed to. This is the pros, you're a grown man, millions of dollars are at stake here, and screwing a franchise out of signing other free agents they could have gone after but didn't because you said they had you, absolutely terrible look. If a FA did that to us, we'd all be livid.

And yeah, I don't see that it would change our Hibbert deal, but I'd sure hope it wouldn't. I'd hope that's also an issue of integrity and sticking to your agreements and that the Pacers aren't the Clippers here. Unless the deal isn't fully figured out yet and fully agreed upon, in which case, yeah, I might be worried.

What can I say. I didn't like Dwight Howard's attitude one bit when he extended with the Magic only to try to force a trade to the Nets (and end up with us), and this is just the same, if not worse. First, shows how low are the Clippers as a franchise doing this. I mean, get over it. Move on, he didn't choose you, time to go with something else. Also, DeAndre Jordan is fine, but he's no Shaquille O'Neal or even close.

And of course, it'd speak really bad about DeAndre Jordan. I mean, I can perfectly understand having second thoughts, but if you're not sure, you don't commit. You will receive some hate for not deciding, but that's nothing compared to what he will receive if he actually changes his mind (very well deserved hate, by the way). You're not just messing with both teams involved, but with a lot of indirect stuff that happened because of his decision (of course, the Hibbert thing is a close example). I don't really like the Mavs, but you pretty much ruin that team's summer by doing that, or force the Mavs to try and ruin another team's summer (going for Hibbert, trying to convince Lopez... whatever).

Maybe I'm asking a little bit too much, but stay classy Clippers, Jordan.

The reports are that the Clippers are bypassing DJ's agents. I think eventually his agents will get ahold of him and let him know why he shouldn't violate the "unwritten rules". DJ is 27. He'll be 32 when his deal with the Clips runs out. Other teams may remember how he treated Dallas and will be weary about signing him.

Also, DJ needs to understand the Clippers' situation. They're a 2nd round/1st round exit and have been for 4 years. Why would they sign him to a 5 year Max deal? Unless they're worried about losing him for nothing. If Doc Rivers and the Clips are willing to go behind the backs of DJ's agents, then what else are they willing to do?

Again ya'll! We ain't losing that trade. Roy is ours. Worst case scenario is we go back to Dallas and actually help them out by signing and trading Lin/Hill to them.

    Dallas in: Lin/Hill/Sacre
    Indiana in: Ellis
    Lakers in: Hibbert

Basic premise, but you get the point. We are still getting Hibbert.

yeah this makes not only the clippers look shady and pathetic but jordan as well. this will definitely effect the clippers management in regards to future deals. but screw jordan too, you don't go back on your word after making a verbal agreement to sign with a team

i'd like to hope bird and the pacers still have some integrity to keep their word with the lakers regarding the hibbert deal but i'm a little scared bird will take this as a chance to eff with the lakers one last time

I agree with you guys, but let's keep it Roy themed on this side and DeAndre Jordan themed in the NBA Discussion section.

My nerves are calmed on the Roy part. Cuban did say it was DJ or lottery time for the Mavs (Their pick goes to BOS next year if it falls out of 1-7). With that being said where's my popcorn?....

So what's the hold up with the Hibbert trade. It's a trade and not a FA signing so we could make it happen today right? I don't feel comfortable waiting for the Clip drama to unfold.

Has nothing to do with Jordan, they're just waiting on the salary cap to be set so they can work out the cash details.

Think they are waiting to see what the cap is set at officially, could be deciding factor if Kelly/Sacre are going in the deal or not.
