if we make a trade--which i expect--rui almost certainly will be going out, imo. i do agree that i found them to be pretty redundant.
i think the lack of reps killed his offense, but i don't see how that changes given our roster makeup. i'm sure wood can go to charlotte and average 17 and 7 again tomorrow. and his team will lose all its games. i hope he can figure out how to be effective in a smaller role, but it was why i was worried about the signing (he needs the ball, and we don't need that), and it proved to be an issue. i see from my old post above that my hope was that if we traded rui, we could use wood in the rui role. i still think that's the way it could work, but rui is better in that role than wood.
I was lukewarm on the signing but felt like it was worth taking a shot on. I do think he can contribute more and JJ may be able to figure out a way to utilize him.
Nah Cranjis doesn't know jack about that and that graph has to be fake news. We've been told here Ham wasn't a problem with his many dubious decisions.
wood, reddish, and hayes are everyone's punching bags, and each will be out of the league if they don't perform this year. i think at least one will.
Hayes could have a better year depending on the specific things the staff comes up with to maximize what his strengths are. I hope both he and Wood put in some diligent weight work for 5 lbs or more muscle. Reddish? Let’s see what they have planned for him to hopefully be deep in the rotation serviceable.
if you think they will be out of the league soon, doesn’t that kinda prove the punching bag status is well deserved?
what i mean is that people are likely to eat crow on one of them (the implications seem to be that if they weren't here, we'd have signed better players in their stead). my money's not on reddish at this point. wood would be the likeliest candidate to regain form in a contract year, imo. he was actually ok on defense (sort of) and the boards last year. and he's proven he can play offense before. anyway, they were all vet mins, and the success rate there is low.
I actually think they all remain in the league. And Wood is the most likely to actually drop out. They're not bums. The problem is what we expect from them. Reddish was effing starting for us. Hayes is ADs backup when every Laker fan and media have been asking for a center the last 2 years. So no, none of them are current NBA rotation players in a team that wants to be in the playoffs comfortably (top 10/15 in the league). But they may be rotation players in bottom half teams or 3rd stringers in any NBA team and I think it will be their place in the upcoming years. Wouldn't be surprised to see Wood going to Europe and being a star there
i think reddish is toast. he's had a lot of chances. love to be wrong here, but i'm not sure what else needs to happen for him. he's just not good. hayes will probably stick around as a utility big, but wood has put up numbers and could re-brand like mo speights (briefly) did. the talent is there, and he's been humbled and should be plenty motivated.
I don't think Wood's situation has anything to do with Hubris. It's the depth chart and role. He's a scoring 4, but we already have LeBron and Rui in that role. He could play a little small ball 5, but AD is the best small ball 5 in the game. Barring a trade or injury, hard to see Wood getinng significantly more burn this season either..
Agree on the latter 2. On Cam, I think it's expectations. Yes, he will not be as good as he looked like he could be. He will not be an NBA core rotation player. But he's still 25, yet to hit his prime. I think he can be like Lonnie Walker, Shamet, Brissett, Justin Holiday, Cody Martin and alike, going from team to team to provide deep bench cover and here and there have some opportunities to play. Although, I agree that seeing THT only getting a partial contract may indicate that space is scarce in the league. He can't hurt as your 12th or under best player. He's not unplayable. He's just bad reading the game and when you're playing for something, that costs you games and many teams can't afford it. I wouldn't be surprised that there's a coach or 2 who might think they can fix him. With Vando out, he definitely sees the floor. I trust JJ to make the most out of him. I think he's the type of coach who has that ability, based on my understanding of his stance in the game. Plus, he was a shooter who couldn't create and required to be put in the best positions to operate, so he should be able to reinforce that in his coaching, especially to offensive-minded players like Wood, Knecht or Rui. I think we'll see some players play better just because they're used in the right manner. It didn't happen last year to almost the whole roster throughout the season. Wood, Max, Cam, Prince, Reaves...the list is long of players badly used by Ham
Cam's problem is staying healthy, if he's healthy he's a better player than Max. Phil wouldn't have lead that squad past Denver last season either. This roster is unbalanced IMO. Too many guards and power forwards.
The amount of wrong you are in your posts on a consistent bases is mind boggling. Cam doesn't belong in the NBA let alone being better than anyone. Max sucks, now and forever. Phil was one lazy attempt for that nimrod Kwame Brown on a rebound in 2006 from beating the Suns with Kobe, Lamar and 10 sticks of gum. Oh, and by the way, the C Bags this year were all f***ing guards and PF's.
Meh..Moving backwards..We don't have the C Bags f***ing guards and power fowards either. It's not the jersey, it's the dude wearing it. Cam is 25 years old on a vet minimum contract, low risk/high reward guy. He's the 2nd best, ball hawking, perimeter defender on this roster. Can he stay healthy for a whole campaign, that's the big question mark. So far in his brief career, NO. We'll see what happens this season, but he's definitely worth keeping around, at his salary. Phil won a few chips in his day too, and still wouldn't have beaten Denver, with that bunch. Training camp is next month Bovine, right and wrong, will be measured shortly. Reddish shouldn't be in the League, and Max sucks now and forever, we shall soon see.
I never understood why you are so high on yourself. You only whine and moan, can't make constructive arguments nor provide any solutions. Then you insult everyone. And with all due respect, you should be humbled by the failure of your podcast, it should help you understand that you're not above others. I think you're projecting your self-hate on others. You should seek some therapy, it may help you feel better about yourself. Here's a website that can help: https://www.betterhelp.com/get-started
