I didn't know where to put this clip, so I figured we could compile all the cool/impressive moments they provide over the course of the season in one thread. And we can watch and see who is challenging DAR for the ROY. I present to you Mario "The Foreign Kobe Bryant" Hezonja WOW.
Man, I was on the Hezonja train when we were projected for 4-5. Hell, I was wondering why we didn't get any workouts and realized he was still playing in the ACB playoffs. I knew he'd go Top 5, and if he had workouts with us, I'm sure he may have gone 2. Yeah, I said it. He's going to be really special. Love his swagger and game.
That was one damn explosive dunk right there. Another name that's been impressive so far: Stanley Johnson. Killing the stat sheet and just looks like a man among boys sometimes on the floor.
Okafor starting out decently. He's got a tremendous touch. The Sixers aren't coached very well and there's little action being run. The offense looks basically the same as it was when Okafor was in college: dump it to him and wait around. His effort is definitely not great right now though. Not liking that.
stan Johnson looked quite good in the few minutes I caught him. they used him as a ballhandler in the screen/roll and he did ok. I think he's going to step right in at the next level. I also wanted hezonja when the lakers were slated at 5; end of that clip he looks taller than Gordon, which is crazy given his game. (speaking of, Gordon looks good to me--improved form on the shot, still brings all the rest).
Okafor was solid. But watching the highlight, I understand how we passed on him. He's great on offense but ugh, all those missed free throws. He's a bit slow too; when the score was 71-71, Okafor just didn't sprint and gave up a lay up.
He looked gassed. He just came off a national championship run with Duke, though. Plus, all conditioning drills he puts himself through to prepare for all the workouts he had with teams. Randle had the same issue last year during summer league.
Watched A little bit of Utah/Boston, Exum is really coming into his own. He put on a bit of weight, not necessarily bad, had that beastly first step that he was scouted for. Good jumper and aggressiveness. I expect him to have a better season next year.
He better be careful, last guy coming into the league to say stuff like this was Austin Rivers, and look what happened to him. His daddy had to keep him in the league.
@Weezy difference is Stan is built like a NBA vet, Rivers is built like a freshman on the JV girls team.
