Gabe was ready to play but the medical staff told him to take it easy.

3 years 33 mill? Can we move this contract? Or would other teams think it’s too expensive because that’s 3 years and 33 mill too much for this guy.

Let’s be real. Call me harsh if you want. But he never passed the eye test for me.

This guy basically missed all season, is a bonafide bench player who played decent for miami for a little bit last year. But he really sucks. TP i can somewhat tolerate due to the 1 year deal, he truly was the worst out of all the players playing, but now that his role is limited, i don’t mind it as much as before when he was gobbling up 40 mins per game.

I still cannot believe we offered this contract to Vincent…. Reeks mosgov and deng lite.

I hope Rob learns from this one.

I think you’re way too negative. He has hardly played. If he can decently score the ball he can be useful. Bigger stronger Schroder replacement not quite as fast but quicker on D than our other guards.

he sucks a** dude - dunno why everyone is so damn optimistic about his return. We were down when he was in the game and he was of course put on Cam Thomas who absolutely ripped him to shreds.

I'm not looking forward to him playing tomorow and stealing minutes from Dinwiddie/Christie.

He was signed because of his great play in the playoffs.
    He got injured.
    He does not suck.
He will help us out next season.

miami offered him just under it, and they had watched him play plenty.

had he not been injured, i'm guessing his contract number looks fine. at worst, he's a solid backup pg and rotation player for a playoff team. mle is the going rate for that.

Initially, I'm not impressed either but I'm willing to wait a few games before saying he sucks.

I'm definitely not a fan of the 3 guard lineups. Please no more of that.

I think the season definitely showed a solid backup PG can do wonders for a team. Keeping Schroeder would have been better but sounds like that was more on DS so Vincent as the second option seemed pretty decent.

We have to separate coach and player a bit somewhat: as I've previously said the team needs both Dinwiddie and Vincent to fix holes. Cam is a very good defender but his inability to hit 3's and (I'm still kind of shocked at this) has been kind of solved by Dinwiddie who have proven to be a good POA defender and is clearly a better offensive threat despite underperforming relative to his standards.

however none of the Laker guards are good against the quick twitch guys which really opens the door for Vincent. Dinwiddie for Murray, Vincent for Fox

If Ham can stay away from his annoying to play small just to play small the Lakers theoretically can really have nice finishing lineups between the AD/Lebron/AR depending on the matchup. Including sometimes going with a 3 guard lineup
AD/Lebron/AR plus Rui and Dinwiddie fit really well athletically and skill wise vs that Denver elite 5
AD/Lebron/AR plus Dinwiddie and Vincent against Sac
Phoenix I'm not sure about: Cam seems to play Durant really well

I don’t know why you make one lousy observation and then support it by another lousy observation, as in “he sucks balls” and not understanding why “everyone is so damn optimistic about his return”.

When in fact everyone (or at least somewhat closer to that hyperbole) has been crying the blues all year about missing Schroder’s quickness and what HE brought. Everyone is not all optimistic about Gabe’s return clearly but he IS the guy who was brought here to best replace that. And he sucks balls based on what in the short 4 or 5 games he’s played? His 3 ball hasn’t started dropping yet? Ignoring everything else he looks to be able to do WELL in that role Schroeder filled? Quick and tenacious on D … check. Handles … check. Can pass the ball at least as good as Schroeder … check. Is bigger and stronger than Schroeder and will handle switches on to bigger players … check.

I don’t know if it’s your eye test is off but mine says he can be of good use to us simply because he’s quicker than anyone else we have and is built like a bulldog and bigger than Schroder who he was brought here to replace that role, and tenacious on defense. With handles, passing and offensive game. 3 ball in the short minutes of the few games he’s been in hasn’t started hitting at a satisfactory and needed per cent yet. Which IMO is where all the knee jerk hate is coming from. Rob did fine. Your logic is definitely off.

With new media contract deals coming, that salary will look like a bargain for a player with a pulse.

    pulse still being confirmed

Who was the obvious replacement for Dennis that could guarantee he would never get injured?
Oh yeah, that player doesn’t exist.
Injuries are part of the game- just deal with it and stop whining.
Gave has proven before that he’s a more than serviceable backup guard in this League. Having a bad injury this season does not negate this fact.

You're not seriously suggesting he's anywhere near DS level are you?

Nothing lousy about the observation, it's pure honesty brother. He is a dud and we were LUCKY to get Dinwiddie to make up for that loss because he's better in literally every aspect of the game. If Ham is smart, he'll keep Vincent in the 10-15 mins a game range and NOT take minutes away from DLO/Reaves/Dinwiddie in the process of trying to integrate Gabe.

I hope and pray I'm wrong about Gabe though - it would be a huge boon to our playoff hopes if he is ANYTHING like he was in the playoffs last year.

Another s*** game from Gabe - and I HATE that he has made us play smaller lineups which is what I feared when he returned.

I KNEW Ham wouldn't utilize him correctly but he just isn't good right now and we shouldn't break our backs trying to integrate him either
