Which I've never understood regarding players who aren't being regarded as franchise players (top 5...top 8 maybe depending on the draft). If you're rebuilding, you have the time to wait and develop, I get that. However, the other half of the league is trying to win now and compete. Most of those guys are going to be on their second team by the time they develop so why aren't you taking a NBA ready guy today even if the ceiling isn't as high? I think these some of the lotto teams this year have wings they're more invested in on their roster, starting PG is a bigger need for a few of these teams. That said, Knecht is the type of player who will really shine in the 1 on 0 workouts when he visits teams, that'll likely push him up the board.
older guys also have the advantage of a longer period of scouting. well, it's a disadvantage to them, apparently, but an advantage to teams. obviously most huge draft hits have been super young with high ceilings. but that's also where most of the busts are, too. and as you said, sometimes even teams with lots of time don't get to reap the benefits of drafting and developing a guy. by the time they're ready to play, you're paying them a lot or they're playing elsewhere. yeah, i actually think he'll end up in the top 10, tbh. but he's been consistently projected lower.
Garcia with some notes/observations Considering how s***ty our backup C position has been, I'm all for targeting a 7-2 280 lb with two way ability. For the sake of conversation, assuming we have our pick and keep our pick, I don't think he'd be on the board when we're selecting.
yeah, i don't think he slips, but i take a chance on him. at some point, some team is going to get burned riding the kessler/mark williams wave, though...
We will probably draft another guard, to pair with Lewis and JHS, 2 seasons from now. If we keep our 1st rd pick, it will be moved in a trade for somebody, have no idea who at the moment, but I'm pretty sure it won't be Trae Young. We might pick up a big tho, as part of whatever trade we come up with.
Zvonimir Ivisic. This is the guy I want. Should be available in the 2nd round. Athletic AD lite type. Let AD take this kid under his wing.
The Bron of it all What the scouting reports say about the player and not the name on the back of the jersey Verdict on his draft value
buy a pick in the 50s and draft bronny to make dad happy. if some team wants to woo lebron by wasting an earlier pick on his kid, more power to all of them.
We need to trade this pick to take a flyer on a lottery bust and a lower 1st round pick where the FO has excelled getting hidden gems
yeah, again i'm convinced we tried to trade down or out of last year's draft and couldn't. if NO opts not to take our pick (it's a gamble for them), i think we'll try the same thing.
