"There's times we agree to agree, agree to disagree or come to an understanding," Ham said of his relationship with Russell, acknowledging his responsibility to improve their discourse after last season's finish.

"But it's not so much the dialogue as it is the access to have it. And I can't stress that enough. I can go to him and let him know how I feel and meet him halfway, or tell him I need him to come more over to my way, or [it can be] him telling me how I need to trust him more and come more over to his way. And it's a workable relationship."

Russell invites the back-and-forth. "We played tennis with that," he said. "I hit the ball back, he hit it to me. ... That's the season. That's what you use 82 games to develop, and we developed it."

Definitely some good stuff in that article.

I’d be all in to fire Ham and sign Atkinson. Make it so Rob! I mean does anyone even like Ham at all at this point? The guy has failed thus far this season. I’m not into throwing away our depth and chemistry for some mystery third star to have Ham waste another year trying to figure out lineups around. I’m on team Dlo at this point. All of us deserve better than Ham.

I can’t even finish reading these basic quotes. It’s like he’s reading out of the manual “Basic Motivational Sentences and Answers for Dummies.”
    Is he for real?
Honestly, was he the first Musk Neuralink Chip patient who’s controlled by a teenager in his parent’s basement???
I feel like I’m being trolled every time I have to listen to Ham explain anything.

Ham is such an idiot. Because he wanted to tinker with lineups...he messed up DLO for half the season.

Love what DLO has done this year and I want him back next year because guess what? You can't lose him for nothing.

    :LLLLLebronlaughing:

That's hilarious. I didn't realize it was *that* game

Lakers need to swear off pork this summer. The roster does not like him. Not one player has gone to bat for him this year during any of this.

Maybe DLO will give us a better deal on his reup this summer if Darv is out.

Damn all that talking, D'Angelo's a** choked in the Conference Finals, period... end of story. He started faltering in the Golden State series.

Yeah..It's a nice feel good story, about how he's bounced back and all that. However the season aint over, and his defense still sucks, and his offense and effort was sporadic earlier, he deserved to be benched. His name deserved to be floated in trade rumors too, f his feelings.

We haven't even finished this regular season campaign, let alone the playoffs. It's pretty damn premature for D'Angelo to be patting himself on the back, and talking victory laps.

Talking loud isn't impressive to me, he talked loud all last season too. The he went out quiet as a friggin mouse against the Nuggets. Dude is putting the spotlight, and pressure on himself, with these type of articles IMO. That's fine..as long as he delivers. If he chokes again...his a** needs to be on the first thing smoking outta here this summer.

yeah, that game was the season for me; it's when i stopped paying as much attention. just a joke.

and once again, if it's ham or dlo, i'm laughing all the way to the assistant coaches pool.

I agree with a lot of your take on Dlo!

That being said - Dlo has clearly stepped up his game. You can't ask anything more of a player is to improve and to me he's improved substantially in basically all aspects of his game.

But OTOH I don't find Ham compelling at all this season: too many time he just doesn't maximize his players. Plays favorites, puts players into weird spots (JHS as a spot up shooter, drop scheme when you have players better at switching, lack of TO's etc).

I look at it like this Pioneer, we got to the Conference Finals last season. The bar is set at a minimum, of another Conference Finals appearance, this season IMO.

Anything less is a failure, and failure should have consequences. That goes for Darvin Ham, and the players too.

It doesn't really matter to me, what happened along the way, just as long as we get there. We had to win a playin game, in overtime, just to get to play Memphis last season. We lose, it's the Nuggets instead.

Fwiw..Reaves, Russell and Rui, have all avg more minutes this season, than they did last season. Lebron and AD have both played most of our games. The players don't have any excuse, for some of the crap efforts, that they have put out, in some our games, starting with Lebron and AD IMO.

I thought D'Angelo played great last season, and then he fell off a cliff, by the end of the playoffs. We had one bad stretch of games after the In season tournament, we went 3-10 , that is why, we are where we are, right now.

It's all water under the bridge to me, what we do now, and in the playoffs is what really matters.

Russell is playing pretty good, the team is back to winning at a higher clip. We are 17-9 in our last 26 games. Obviously nobody has quit, that's all good, but it's not time for anyone, to be celebrating anything IMO.

Ham and these current players deserve the right to be judged after its all done. Failure should have consequences though, for everyone, that's all I'm saying.

Hopefully we keep this better play going, starting with tonight.

Dlo has started 54 out of 61 games. Not sure how that equals half a season of messing with Dlo. Unless you are talking about something else?

the benching in december or whatever it was. based on both observation and these latest revelations, i'm guessing there was a ton of turmoil prior to that, too. thus, half the season.

again, i fully expect that restoring dlo and benching prince weren't ham's choices.

I’m not trying to defend Ham, I don’t think he’s a good coach but Dlo got benched for all of 7 games. I just don’t think it’s all that.

To be fair. I did think the article implied the relationship has improved and DLO has earned more trust.

Meh..The team has been playing at a 50 win pace, fo the last two months. I question the timing of these type of articles.

D'Angelo was in his feelings, so what? Why is that some relevant, breaking news today? If sending him to the bench, allowed him, to have this epiphany, about his role here, that's great. Then benching him, was a great move , for him and the team. Similar story with Austin.

The most ironic thing to me, is that D'Angelo's "Eureka!" moment, is almost verbatim, what Ham said that he told Russell after he got traded here.

"Go out and play your game, you don’t have to always defer to Lebron and AD".

Now it's finally sinking in? Lol.. man shut up play ball.

The Ham critics, will be singing a different tune, a month from now.Lets go win some more damn games.

Ham sucks, this roster finds success despite his incompetence because they have Lebron DAR AR and a dominant AD

You'd think D'Lo would have a point to make after that Ham article today.

I guess that's what you get from him sometimes.

just box score watching, but not a good game to not show out

and on the heels of the article? Not a great look.

LA still equals drama, but we just want to see quality basketball.
