putting up too good of numbers at so young for us not to give it a chance to translate to the pros. Just need to give the kid some time.

 

No love from his father figure in his formative years and now all of a sudden Kareem’s trying to gravy train on the kid’s 1st round contract pretending he really cares about him ….. it’s no wonder JHS has confidence issues with the varsity.

 

he's at what, 45% on about 5 attempts from three a game in a 10+ game sample in the g-league? the shot is definitely not "broken". he's had trouble adjusting to the speed of the nba game (and has played outside of garbage time, like, twice).

the only thing i'll agree with the haters on is that he's never going to be a finisher. he doesn't get off the ground, and i don't think he'll be able to get those little hooks and floaters against nba competition. once again, it will be about the defense. if he can use his strength to become a plus on that end, he's a 3 and D pg, which has some value.

I'm glad he's finally getting comfortable and some rhythm in the G-league. That's not to say it'll ever translate but it's a great starting point. Gee if only anyone would have thought to oh, I don't know, have him play THE ENTIRE f***ING SEASON DOWN THERE. I really question how we've deployed him this year. Think it did much more harm than good.

either way, they really screwed up not taking whitmore, JJ, or podz
