I’m still not feeling very engaged yet. Still kind of in the “show me” phase of determining if I’m going to even watch on the regular. If the team doesn’t care to play hard, I refuse to lose any sleep to watch. If they hop on a run, I’ll catch some games.

And the stars better score 30 points

I love this time of the season myself, this is the step up or step aside moment for the team. A lot of decisions get made based on how guys perform down the stretch, including the coaching staff. I wish we had it easy, but we are the Lakers during the Lebron era..high drama and intrigue awaits.

Definitely not Nostradamus, otherwise sports betting results would be much more favorable. What I am fairly decent at is research, looking at facts and data then coming up with an opinion based off what those facts present. Vs. the view that sees such things as hooey (it's remarkable, that level of fact based denial is typically only reserved for far leaning political stuff) and makes fluid feelings based takes that change as deemed necessary by the goal post moving narrative.

I think I lost you in my previous post so I'll simplify it for you, so you'll have a concise understanding of my position.

In a vacuum, yes. I think in a single elimination, I like our chances against Pelicans, Kings or GS. I think Dallas flips with the Pelicans, their deadline did wonders for them. Out of those GS scares me the most because of experience and all it takes is Steph to go NBA Jam mode and it's a wrap. As a low seed, I like how we match against OKC. I don't take Minny seriously. KAT folds. Conley is old. Gobert is the most overrated defensive big in the past 20 years. We should be able to throw enough at Ant to slow him down. They're green and fools gold. Clipps are rolling and their chemistry and threat level is building. It's all health for them whether they're a threat or not, I won't believe Kawhi can hold up for a 7 game series until I see it but I think if you stop the season today and throw both LA teams in a series, I think it goes the distance and is decided by a hair. Denver remains the best team and if healthy, they're repeating. Here's the rub... it's accumulative play, damage, wear and tear. It's not NBA 2K with injuries and the stamina meters off, process is a brutal SOB and I think it's too much to overcome by the second round.

[Unless something drastically shifts, I think we lose in round 2]

Never once said we wouldn't make the play in. Can't see us dropping to 11th unless Bron and AD miss a chunk of the remaining games.

Schedule is insanely difficult. Just look at the start of March, it's a murderers row
    Screenshot_20240222_152306_Chrome.jpg

Those 7 to start are BRUTAL.

That's not how the bracket works bud.
    Round 1: It's 1 v 8, 2 v 7, 3 v 6, 4 v 5.
Round 2: winner of 1/8 plays winner of 4/5, winner of 2/7 plays 3/6
Round 3: last remaining teams in the conference
Round 4: last remaining team in east plays last remaining team in west.

I hope we are, hope we do, and hope you're right. I just find it a very cavalier and lazy approach to think that since we did it last year, we'll just do the same thing this year. That's just not how it works.

Moving backwards..I know how playoff brackets work, I've been a NBA fan for 50 years. I don't need a friggin lecture on the subject. And FOH with that petty a** cavalier and lazy approach BS, I never said that we are going to make a run, just because we made one last season. I simply pointed out, that it's not some incredibly impossible task.

We were a playin team against Phoenix, a lot of people felt like we could have won a chip if AD hadn't gotten hurt.

We were a playin team last season, I think we could have won a chip, if D'Angelo hadn't disappeared.

So..I'm not concerned about being a playin team, based on our history. As it stands right now, I'd rather play Minnesota or OKC in the 1st rd. 6th place NO gets the Clippers.

I look forward to that tough schedule myself, 8 of those games are at home. If we are deep run caliber this campaign, we should win most of those games.

I want to see the team playing well period, if they do that, bring anybody on, any round.

No team in the West has the luxury of coasting, we won't be the only team trying to get a win every night. I have no idea, what the standings will look like by April either.

If we are playing like I believe that we can play , it won't matter.
I don't think Denver is getting out of the West, probably won't make it out of the 2nd round.

The games will show what's what

Slick, I gotta call BS man. I would use your FOH but I find that too disrespectful. You trying to tell us you been an NBA fan for fifty years..??. All this time I've been holding back thinking you was about 20 and probably never watched a full season. You can give me the FOH, I won't be offended...lol. Just interjecting some humor.

Almost 50...I couldn't have been 20 if I followed Cap to the Lakers.

You had us playing Denver in Round 1.

If. If. If. That's what I just read. If x happened (and it didn't), then y would be possible (it wasn't).

I am all for a ramp up period to prepare for the post-season but I prefer a 2 week period instead of a 26 game slaughter house. Where not only do we have to play the best ball of the season, you're relying on a few other teams to take the foot of the gas because Ham played with his food for half the season.

Usually agree with most everything you post but have to correct here …. Numbnuts played with his food for “2/3” of the season. ;)

Damn dude, you be reaching real hard, for the t** for tat stuff, I see. I edited that post awhile ago, I meant the Flippers. I'm rather flattered, that you invested that amount of effort. I have your attention. Shrug..I'm firing off my cell a lot of times, I edit a lot.

Cutting to the chase here...what's your prediction on the rest of this campaign?

15 & 11, play- in, second round exit.

Unfortunately that's might be enough for Ham to keep his job depending on the details involved in that projection.

i think we're out in the play-in because i don't think we get to 7/8, thus have to win two to get in, and we don't do it.

    be glad to be wrong.

if we had a cushion right now, i'd make the same prediction as jsm.

I'm going with 19-7 to finish out, landing in 6th, facing the Flippers in the Conference Finals.

I'm not sure this team has the give a crap or effort, health, mental fortitude to go 19-7 at any point during the year.

...and Lebron is my favorite player.

Fire this idiot. He's literally our downfall this season...took him 50 games to figure out a good lineup and now we're going to scratch and claw to STAY in the f***ing play-in...
