Mia did want gabe back but they were low balling him and was prioritizing dame trade...but whatever issue gabe had was there before season started cause he missed most of the preseason from what i can remember....so his knee issue was there whoever did his physical did a crappy job

 

i don't think gabe was already injured. my best wild guess is that he took it easy over the summer as a FA (so that he didn't get injured before cashing in), and the problem showed up during what was a normal ramp up for him in the past but was now something of a cold start. this is partly what happened to AD after the ring, i think.

gabe didn't miss time in miami with this kind of thing, so it was just bad luck, not some grand devious plan by miami. if he had signed there for the 7 million or whatever they were offering for three years, he'd be in a grave in south beach instead of long beach right now.

as for slick's hope, vincent has two more years left on his deal, so we won't get the value we got back from nunn without sweetening substantially. if gabe came back and played prior to the deadline, i think we might get some value, but that's obviously not happening. if he's going out, first rounders and other players will be attached.

Some say it was too soon to form an opinion with like 3 games for a sample OR already formed the opinion he sucked, because he wasn’t hitting 3s …. yet. To the latter most here know how I feel about “ceilings” put on players with next to no decent sample sizes or fresh out of college and still acclimating to the pro game. But to the former …. IMO …. you could watch and see how he moved and gage the athleticism and other skills. Not Schroder’s top level speed but NOT bad and a bigger, gritty as well, defender who probably does better on switches to bigger players. Glass half full on the 3 ball plus he scores in other ways as well.

The family requested their privacy be respected. Which is understandable.

 

I know surgery is the last option, but if would have did the surgery in November/beginning of December, he'd be back by or closer. They kept him out for weeks and then finally realized the pain is going going anywhere, it's time for surgery? Just a mess.

Either way, I hope he makes a fully recovery and aims to comeback ASAP
