i don't know; i'd be surprised if lebron actually asked out right now. and no way we'd trade him if he didn't.

 

Yes, I do believe AD and Lebron legitimately have minor injuries that have been nagging them for a while. For the most part they’ve been incredibly available this year and have carried a huge load on their shoulders. Lebron is 39 and just a few days removed from a 2OT game followed by a back-to-back.

I can’t agree with the theory that Lebron and AD intentionally sat to sabotage the team and send a message.

 

Yeah I can see that. The guys name was vaguely familiar once his latest rumor started circulating, and I immediately dismissed it once I saw it because I had this impression of him as not being reliable.

So I was surprised when these tweets that ended up being right started circulating. I’m sure there has been a lot more stuff that he was wrong about, that either he deleted or people just haven’t found yet

 

Pingalore is the KTLA 5 sports reporter who covers lots of things including the Clippers and sometimes travels with the team. I'm surprised by his tweet and not sure how deep his connections go, but apparently his LeBron connect goes deep and is sometimes years ahead of things happening.

If the LeBron trade rumors have even a whiff of possibility to them - what would you want for LeBron?

Another superstar trade seems unlikely.
Combo of decent players plus picks?
A billion first round picks from NY?
Then go hard in a year for Luka or someone?

I trade him for a few 2nds and expiring contracts. Get rid of the 50 mil noose when he can no longer lead a good team to the playoffs, and we can play better when he’s not in the court (Boston).

again, don't think he's going anywhere, but if he were, i wouldn't be upset. we're almost guaranteed to get something better from trading him than what will happen when he just retires. i'd let him pick his destination and just stipulate that we won't take back bad salary (e.g. we won't take wiggins off gs's hands) and want something tangible (not just expiring contracts--we get that if he walks). at his price tag, you basically have to get that, though.


for example, if lebron truly wanted to go to the knicks, we'd basically have to get randle back in the deal. is randle great? no. but is he likely better than what we could land in FA? yes. i haven't forgotten greg monroe.

lebron to ny would be a great story for the nba, and it might prevent a boston title, too, which would be awesome.

once again, don't think any of this happens at all, just sayin'.
