Lol..Kuzma has put that excellent potential to work in Washington too hasn't he? Their record reflects that, seriously tho, Kuz was never relied on to be the PG here, he played his role, it was a good role on the chip team. His teams have sucked, in every other year of his career too.

I think most people really don't know Dejounte.
He was playing like an all-star in San Antonio. He basically couldn't play because he was making them good while they wanted to tank.

He's 10x what DLo is as a player. He's quicker, attacks the paint better, he creates better, orchestrates better, he passes better, he's just a better all around player. Then on defense is just night and day. DLo may be a better 3pt shooter and that's pretty much it. Dejounte has been improving there though.

He's an awful fit in Atlanta playing with a ball handler like Trae and his numbers, confidence and flow went down.

I see Dejounte as someone who can absolutely lead this team with AD and Reaves after LeBron and keep us contending. He's that good and in the right stage he can blossom.

He's also an amazing fit with Reaves, they complement each other and solves a huge problem this roster has in the POA defender, which is quite relevant when to win the West we gotta beat Murray, Shai and alike.

I would absolutely throw Rui, JHS, even Max if it meant getting him. He's a game changer to us, in the present and future.

For reference, he posted 21/8/9 and 2 stls a game in his last year on Spurs.

Finally, he's also someone we can trade later if a Luka, Booker or Tatum get available, he's young and will always be a good trade asset, which justifies a stretch in our offer if needed

point is he wasn't the problem. people like to find the guy they think is the problem.

our problem against denver is that they employed the best player on either team, were well-coached, and were 100% healthy.

    dlo's replacement wouldn't fix that.

agree! i think murray is a big enough upgrade to add a future unprotected first to dlo/rui. i just think a) atlanta won't go for that and b) san antonio will beat that offer without sweating.

Man D'Angelo Russell played like hot s*** against Denver. I don't understand why you continue to deflect from that fact, We all saw it happen. No team should expect or diminish that type of fall off in production. If he had played that poorly earlier, we wouldn't have made it to the Conference Finals.

Who said that the Spurs want to give up assets, in order to bring Murray back? Is this conjecture?

Murray defense has been bad in Atl. I don't know if the ACL or being in ATL but I hope the Lakers have a conversation with him regards to this.
he's got to commit to the side of the ball again if they are going to give a 1st rounder.

I'd rather trade Rui and Keep Dlo TBH. I like Dlo with a strong backup PG. Reaves and Murray theoretically would work well together.
Lakers have far more options at wing/PF then do at guard so their better off losing some assets at those spots.

Sometimes it’s addition by subtraction though.
If there is locker room unrest, what can you do?

DLo isn’t the problem, but he’s also not the solution going forward.
With Old Man James and Austin as below average defenders, we can’t keep trotting out starting units with THREE poor defenders and expect to do any damage in the playoffs.
We do know that Murray has shown in the past that he’s been an excellent defender and can be again.

I have more trust in Murray than Dlo if we can pull that trade off. I'm for it. I'm also interested in Brown. Brown for Rui does make some sense, although once again, I like Rui a lot. He's just a bit redundant/odd man out at times with Ham at the helm. Brown showed a lot last year for Denver. I think they were significantly weakened by losing him. Then again, Rui showed a lot on our squad in last year's playoff run. So that one is a bit of a toss up. Brown's the better defender. They both score at a high percentage. Rui is our only real Lebron insurance player though. Brown won't fit that bill.

Isn’t he one of our primary ball handlers? Oh, right, he needs screens to score because he’s not athletic enough to create his own shot.

Our offense was fluid in the first half when dlo was facilitating

LeBron hogs the ball in the second half and tons of turnovers and stagnant offense.

At times I feel for the guy when he says he's not the PG on this team.

Yep: Lakers play a kind of low-D but fluid rhythm Offense for the first 15 mins and look good. Then, whatever D there was broke down a lot, and the offense became stagnant, without ball movement. It was hideous. Almost had to divert my eyes. The 3rd Q was like watching the Hindenburg disaster: nice sunny day here in New Jersey as we all watch the latest in aeronautical technology...suddenly: O THE HUMANITY!

    Hyperbole? Yea. Still...

Dlo and Reaves would benefit from Vando in the lineup. Lebron and AD too. He has the activity and motor to help energize the team and create transition opportunities.

Prince is just a guy who hits threes sometimes. He has zero rebounding and is an average to below average defender. He is being asked to guard the best players nightly which is ridiculous.

    :Mindblown:

But Noooooooo!!!! Numbnuts has a history in his coaching lite past life with the guy …. so he’s the ONE f****** role player he won’t even try off the bench.

How do you even try to excuse THAT “certain someone” here?
