LaMarcus just posted on twitter that he's happy to be going home to Texas. Whoopity doo. Now let's go focus on players who aren't trying to go home.
Annnnnd we're back to NBA Discussion. Aldridge is dead to me. Looking forward to Randle blowing by him and dunking on him repeatedly.
Well I guess we didn't really stand a chance against Pop. It's alright, like others said, we need to have our youngsters develop. Remember OKC sucked for a few years before those guys were contenders. I have confidence our guys can have to the same result.
Edit: I think that's a bit too sexual -Barnstable *** Sorry, knew it was borderline.. Gotto admit it was spot on though..
Actually I thought players wanting to go home might be our fall back plan this year with Love. Then in a couple years with Westbrook. We can't even get them. Love decided to stay and we eliminated the other option with our draft choices.
At least, LMA made his decision much more quickly than others in the past. Still...a lot of the good free agents were taken..
I'm actually curious to see how Spurs are going to get players with their cap issue. Also waiting for the articles drilling Kobe after Duncan takes a huge pay cut..... NOT!
When you have the best coach in the league around for 4 more years, their old guys, the best international scouting department in the league, and just brought in LMA, you'll be alright. They'll have no problems getting vets to fill out their remaining needs this summer. And they're creative enough going forward and get their guys to take pay cuts.
So basically we wasted 3 days of free agency on this when it was pretty clear from the start he was going to the Spurs. Nice. Ok, I'll be fair, we did offer max to DJ and Monroe too apparently. Still would have been nice to keep Ed Davis or sign Biyombo for the 3 mil per he got. Hopefully this Hibbert trade goes through for us.
We'll see how LMA works out with SAS ... He will need to step his defensive game up and do things he wasn't asked to in Portland . He's definetely not going to help SAS in one category they suffered last season : transition defense ... Offensively the Spurs will be unstoppable at times though
LMA should put out a pie chart to let us know the "percentage leaning towards" for each destination he was considering.
The Warriors can run on them. San Antonio would want to slow down the pace and grind it out much like Memphis.
It's definitely not a perfect fit without some depth down low, but they're going to be monsters to stop defensively at times. As always though they're an injury away from being a first round exit. Still the future is bright there, no doubt.
Yup. What happens during games when Tim gets his rest? I imagine that happens much more this season. Are they going to rest LMA too and just toss those out as losses? I can't wait to see him get beasted on by NBA centers. A 7 footer being too pansy to play Center in the NBA is not a guy I would want on my team. I would have welcomed LMA with open arms, but I wouldn't have been able to handle that for too long, just like I couldn't handle Dwight's free throw shooting after the first game when he missed 11 free throws (3 for 14) and we lost by 8.
