That's irrelevant..you play what you have and adjust to it. Nobody strong armed Rob into signing Hayes in the first place.
Wood is struggling on offense. Its a new role for him on this particular team and he hasn’t found that rhythm. His rebounding is a bright spot on a team that is weak in that department.12th in DRB% and 25th in TRB%.This team does need his offense though
If he can’t find his offense he will be losing his minutes to Vando unless Ham uses him strictly to backup AD
yeah, he's having basically his worst season ever so far. and ironically, it's mostly because he's been so bad offensively. he's like what everyone claims vando is on that end, without being vando on the other end. and i don't think he's being put into positions to fail. he should fit into what ham wants to do, especially on offense. he's got 60 games to prove he's not a vet min guy/turkish allstar.
Yeah, I don’t remember who it was against, but he’s had ONE game in which he looked like a good signing. With his size, he should be a much, much better rebounder and defender. No excuses for this poor play after being in the NBA for so many years.
i'll be curious to hear what he and others (ham, etc.) say as things unfold. he's had a great chance to prove the naysayers wrong and definitely has not done that.
I would be happy with just some increased improvement on BOTH sides of the ball. Talk from athletes never impresses me. Well, It wasn’t impressive, but Shaq’s quotes when he was a player were often entertaining.
in fairness, wood hasn't talked a big game this year, imo. he hasn't played one, but he hasn't talked one, either. that was part of why i said i was interested in hearing his thoughts about his season. and again, we're only 1/4 of the way through. maybe he finds his groove and things start clicking.
the wood/hayes lineup let SA back in the game, imo. not sure why ham keeps going to it. i guess maybe because rui was playing with the starters.
I thought the risk with Wood was that if he didn’t get many touches or playing time he’d become a malcontent. At this point, I’m starting to think it’s the opposite. He’s TOO content. Like I think he’d rather just vibe with the young kids on the bench, occasionally put up empty stats in garbage time, and go along for the ride being a cheerleader soaking in the team success from the sidelines. I still think he’ll have his moments, I could see him having a lesser version of last post-season’s Lonnie Game 4 where he catches fire and hits some big shots in an important game. But when our roster is fully healthy, he just doesn’t make sense to be a regular part of the rotation. And when our roster ISN’T healthy (ie AD is out), he doesn’t have what it takes to fill the gap
I never understood why so many wanted this dude. He hasn’t stuck with a team so far, and it’s not his attitude.
Shot 60% from the floor 40% from 3 Lead the team in rebounds 17 pts off the bench The only player who got significant minutes who was a plus at +13 Yeah he’s garbage I know lol
I'm not sure what folks are expecting here. Wood is a stretch 4, on a team that has 4 preferred options at 4. Lebron, Vanderbilt, Rui and AD on occasion. This idea about him being the 5, was always dubious, Anthony is bigger than Wood. No..we seem to want to play the same way, that we've played since the bubble. Surround AD with perimeter players, and play him mostly as a 5. Makes a lot of sense considering the MLE signings..two perimeter players, and a 3rd Cam, has been elevated to a starter. Wood's going to get some burn as the season goes along, AD is bound to miss some games. If he knocks down the 3 more consistently, he might play a tad more, at the moment, he has to bid his time and roll with whatever he's asked to do. Again after resigning Jarred, Rui, D'Angelo and Aust, coupled with the 2 MLE signings, and Cam's rise...I'm not seeing this great opportunity for Wood to get heavy minutes. Until an injury strikes, and that's surely going to happen at some point.
What the hell does that even mean? You make a lot of vague irrelevant observations. Reddish hasn't stuck anywhere either, or Vanderbilt, or Prince, or D'Angelo. What does that mean? Do you understand that? I'm sure that it sounded like some kind of astute assessment in your mind. Lol SMH
