Huh? How old was Magic? Edit.... he was 20 as well. Ergo..... Russell who passes great like Magic and is a better shooter ..... will have a similar rookie year.
I read Haywood got his life together. Glad he did so. Mexico City Olympics 1968 to D.C. BB community. At least Haywood's around and not languishing in some rehab facility. He should be in the Hall but his past could be a detriment. I have to say Haywood had a more stylish beard than whatever Harden can grow. On topic: It's a long way until Monday when I'm hoping this Aldridge saga is put to rest and we can get some dominos...whatever is left in the stack.
Wait let me go back to Wiki. Could of sworn it said 20 talking about his game 6 against the 70centers. Here this was one of the blurbs that came up while Google was data mining me during my search: Enter Johnson, the 20-year-old rookie. Assuming Abdul-Jabbar's position at center, Johnson sky-hooked and rebounded the Lakers to victory with 42 points, 15 boards, seven assists and three steals. He even jumped for the opening tap. Johnson became the first rookie ever to win the Finals MVP Award. NBA.com: Magic Johnson Bio www.nba.com/history/players/johnsonm_bio.html NBA
He is in: http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/c...-dikembe-mutumbo-elected-basketball-hall-fame this year.
He'll never get in because he's the NBA version of Curt Flood. The NBA wouldn't let him in after 2 years of college, so he went to the ABA. He filed an anti-trust suit against the league and eventually won. However, fans hated him, oftentimes spitting on him and routinely booing him during games. Throw in his drug use and I just don't see him getting in. EDIT: Well damn, I guess they did let him in. Good find. Only 30+ years after he retired.
Best case scenario, we have a trade in place for Hibbert, hopefully for Hill and Lin only, we are waiting for LMA to make his decision and sign with us or another, then the dominoes fall, with or without LaMarcus.
He needs a change of scenery, just like Pau. No one wants to play for a team which hates your guts and forcing you to opt out.
You might be right. Just wouldn't give too much. You know we gotta keep our options open for next years free agent strike outs.
And playing with Kobe and taking over for him next season didn't do anything for him? Just what in the hell did we say in our meeting compared to the Suns and Spurs that have knocked it out of the park with him? All the reports of what really impresses him are the same things we can offer.
The media wants drama, they're holding off a shocking story that LaMarcus wants to sign with the Lakers. That's why they keep pummeling us these past few days
Then it begs the question, how is Mitch and Co. letting them cheap bastards in PHX look better and number 2 on his list? Pretty sad when PHX has a better chance landing a big time FA over the Lakers.
