I’m resigned to the fact that the FO and Scouts f***ed our chance with a mid 1st round pick because they missed out on their 1st choice and weren’t willing to gamble on a player they did not interview.
..... as opposed to you spec-a-latin' that's what happened? Clearly you're talking about your boy again, who was not a position of need with the sudden glut of good sized wings with some talents they were looking at going into the season with. That's a possibility though added to whatever other reasons they had not to.
That’s not speculation though…they specifically said that their main target was gone and that they did not want to draft someone they did not thoroughly worked out and interviewed…
Wow! Not doubting you if you read that but that’s a pretty crappy thing to let get out there publicly for the player you drafted to read. Who in the organization allegedly said this?
It was an after draft report I read somewhere that’s why I was so madAnd get this they choose JHS because he gave a good interview and his disciplined diet, the same one that makes that minor injury take so long to heal. It’s like they picked for an office position not a basketball playerThey never considered the 3pt shooting or even athleticism in this drafting…
Again it just doesn’t sound like something a professional organization “should” have been on record saying publicly whether true or not. That he wasn’t the guy they really wanted and they in effect settled on him. This is the same organization that surprised most people passing on Okafor when we needed our next big man and taking DLO instead. The had JHS in multiple times reportedly. I wonder who the source of the article was and more specifically who in the Lakers organization known for class would go on record with something like that. But you also make it sound like they didn’t “seriously” scout him and evaluate him on the floor during workouts which common sense says would be nonsense.
pretty sure it was a "source" who said that, but it tracks. i think none of their targets slipped and they couldn't trade out at fair value--and i think they did like jhs. i'm still not sure why we (well, kareem lol) want to just close the book on the guy's career before he's played a minute in the league. it will be at least two years before i feel super comfortable assessing him, i'm guessing.
If anyone still wonders why Draymond punched Poole...Exhibit Z. We're gonna need a new alphabet. Truly: when he decided to shoot there was no one within 10 feet of him and it's basically a bunny. He gets it BLOCKED? WTactualF? I wonder how many Wiz fans broke their TVs after that one? Gonna be a looooong-azzed season for them.
So I watched GSW@SAC tonight. GSW needed to win by 11 'cuz of the tourney thing. I thought SAC looked really good in the first half with 55, but GSW was firing on all cylinders, had 72. Shades of their ring years. GSW goes up 24 at one point. The crowd - we know that crowd - was out of it. (They still boo Draymond as if the NBA is partly the WWF, with Dray as the Iron Sheik. They're down 24 and a King hits a FT, they still go wild. That is a whole different California right there, of course.) SAC starts whittling the lead down, but GSW has been there before. SAC leaves Dray wide open for a 3 with 60 secs left, and he misses, but Wiggins made a fantastic play to tip it in. GSW up 5 with 59 secs left. Fox hits a FT. Then Curry turns it over and Malik Monk hits a 3, then Dray turn it over (he got one T and looked rusty after his 5 game suspension, but his D was spectacular) and then Monk hits a nutty, impossible shot driving in the lane, heavily contested, from the hip, with around 7 secs left to put them up by 1. The crowd is as loud as any crowd in the NBA and they - lots of cowbell people - are going absofreakinglutely bonkers. I could barely hear Brian Anderson of TNT call the game. GSW is out of TOs, so they rush it to Steph, who gets swarmed, jacks up a deep 3 that glances off the rim. SAC wins by 1. It was not a boring game. This is the kind of game that makes one team think they can go all the way, while the team that blew the 24 point lead? They really gotta wonder.
i think kuz and poole are ok. they're getting a chance to be the stars and both making a ton of money. after a couple years, they'll accept secondary roles elsewhere (probably via trade) and return to thriving as role players and winning (while probably retaining their salaries due to the bird rights trap). they've already won! like literally, they each already have a ring.
Wemby didn’t dress tonight’s loss against Pels. Injured or Pop probably didn’t want Zion breaking him?
