He's never had Anthony Davis and that matters. In the other stops, he's had to be the big and he can't do that so well, but when paired with the best defensive big in the league, he's shown so far that he knows how to maximize that pairing defensively and thrive in his lane.
It's a great combo with those two. It's why I've been calling for him to start. I want to see more of Wood with Lebron and AD. It's working really well.
Where does the line for the crow start? Give me a heaping plate. The AD and Wood pairing is DANGEROUS
This guy is easily a 14-16M/year player if locked in, especially paired with AD. One of the best 3pt shooting bigs in the league as well.
yeah, i didn't want him, but he's doing stuff he basically didn't do at all in other stops. if he's going to bring energy on defense and on the boards, he's very valuable.
Yep, there's not tape on him doing this. Huge props to him (and to Cam) for making the necessary zags in his career this year to keep it going. If Wood can stay dialed in and brings this all year, then I'm beyond thrilled he proved me wrong about him and look forward to the show. I'll take my crow and ask for seconds.
This guy He's an absolute plus on the court, on both sides. We knew his scoring, but the way he's defending, fighting for rebs and loose balls is great. He and AD are a really nice combo and we even played them with Hayes and worked. He just gives us so many different options. Kudos to him for what he's showing and all the energy is bringing. Great pick up by Rob and Ham
Is it just me, or do we literally get every single defensive rebound with Christian Wood and AD together in the game? We need to find as many minutes as possible for AD/Wood/LeBron. We have rim protecction, switchability, rebounding, and we don't lose spacing on offense. What more can we ask for? Wood andn AD both have the ability to switch onto perimeter players (especially wings). That is a HUGE advantage, pun intended. I had no idea Wood was THIS good on defense...I knew he could light it up on offense...but my goodness, he loves to block shots and get big time rebounds on both ends. This might be our best signing of the off-season... Also - IN before we start hearing "OH LAKERS ARE TOO STACKED THEY GOT CHRISTIAN WOOD FOR THE MINIMUM SO NOT FAIR" lololol stfu everyone was hating when we signed him and saying "he's trash did you watch him in dallas?! houston?! LMAOOOO lakers suck"
This guy is so valuable for us on both ends, that I am fully on the "go HUGE" bandwagon right now. Start Dlo, Prince or Vando, Bron, AD, Wood. You have amazing playmaking and scoring off the bench then... I am now convinced this is worth trying.
This is what i posted on July 17th which would suggest there is plenty of tape showing what he was capable of.Most people just don’t understand what they’re watching
Reaves has got to start and finish. I would go PG: DLO, Vincent SG: AR, Max, Cam PF: Woods, Rui, Cam SF: LBJ, Vando, Prince, Cam C: AD, Hayes PF and C are completely interchangeable. Vando is your defensive stopper off the bench.
I think at least just try Wood as a starter and go big with him AD and Lebron. The starters are in large deficits every first quarter. We can’t afford to start every game down double digits. They lack energy, effort and D. That’s something Wood can help with. And I like the chemistry developing with those three.
Nope. No birdies, so no way to pay him beyond this season unless LeBron retires. The ol’ Schroeder special.
Yeah..I thought Wood was a steal at the MLE myself. I would have traded Jalen for him to get the Bird rights too, but here we are. He'd have to really love it playing in his hometown for the Lakers, in order to get underpaid for 3 seasons in a row.
