So tonight we are shorthanded and Max will almost certainly play. This is the reason he should have been getting minutes already so he is prepared. In Ham's shortsighted stubbornness he has shown a lack of confidence in a player he now needs. Hopefully Max will come in and do well any way but just another example of Ham not seeing the big picture.

He seemed to rush his 3 point shot a bit: you're open Max shoot in rhythm
Otherwise was a solid player and you can see the athleticism is nice

Not a great shooting performance, but I think this game is actually even more reason as to why he needs more consistent playing time.

The stroke on that first 3 to end the first quarter was NICE (and it was a big shot to keep us in striking distance). He might have one of the sweetest strokes on the team.

All his other shots seemed a bit rushed and out of rhythm. That’s not an indictment on his shooting ability, just a sign that he needs more reps to develop chemistry with the rest of the rotation.

So good to at least see Max get some minutes out there. More please. He'll shoot himself into rhythm, just needs opportunity.

Yup. This was his first real game of the season.
    He’ll be just fine.

Good D, hustled but his shooting looked like someone who hasn’t played a game this season.

Good mins from Max imo. The scoring will come when he gets into rhythm, this game he looked a little rushed but understandable. His defense was pretty good too, he's a little weaker to guard guys like PG or Kawhi but his length is disruptive.

Yeah those two are a tough assignment, especially out of the gate. One play Kawhi put a shoulder in his chest and I was worried about broken ribs.

    Not bad kid.

we need to find him regular minutes, imo. his ceiling is higher than cam or gabe's, and he could get a lot closer to it sooner if he plays.

offense wasn't there but man this boy competed his @$$ off on D against 2 of the best wings in the league.

I prefer to have Christie in there vs Gabe Vincent

Definitely has the higher ceiling, I like Cam on guys with more size, he has a massive wingspan advantage (7'1 vs. 6'8.75). But honestly we're going to need all three, they're our best perimeter defenders with Vando out and none of them are the POA defender that Dennis was. Defense by committee, but enough PT for them to get a rhythm is going to be troubling for Ham.

yeah, i just think developing max should be a priority at this point. cam's likely to be playing on another team next year. but agree that cam is the guy you want defending sfs. max is a sg.

Max's jumphot even when he misses looks good - honestly in the playoffs I fear Cam will go the way of Vando last year and become unplayable after the other team adjusts.
Max is the one guy who might not be as good on defense but I just don't see teams leaving wide open and daring him to shoot.

You have to give him minutes: size and athleticism helps in basketball!

And one thing that was good about this game is that we showed we are still really competitive with other guys playing next to Lebron and AD. I mean dang, we were without 4 major rotation players and we still had a good game. I hope this tells Ham that he really has to look at his rotations.

A number of his shots were rimming in and falling out. They will start falling very soon. Max just needs to play!!

He just needs some minutes to take care of that shot and gain confidence. He can play.
