i'm laughing at you expecting fan restraint. i mean, have you been here? wait til sac downs us for 0-3. this place will be bedlam, despite any betting man predicting a high likelihood we'd be 0-3 to start the season.

Depends on how the losses would go. If they go like game one, bedlam would be earned. Lose two hard fought games, disappointing, but things to build on.

Better than game one, but he's still got work to do.

The 3 left him. Where is pre-season DLO? 1-7 from 3 isn't going to work. He didn't have confidence in it. His drives looked good, but he's got to give us both.

Defense effort still looking better than last year, but not good enough to get 4th Q minutes over the distaster that's been Gabe.

+1. looked better than game 1 and his defensive effort is better but the shot needs to fall. Decision making seems off still as he was taking some contested 3's which he didn't have to take

yeah, on one possession, he passed up a wide open three to make a risky pass that almost got picked off and wasn't going to lead to a score. the ball squirted back to him, wide open again, and he hesitated but realized it was insane to pass up two consecutive wide open threes, then he shanked it.

if there's ever been a candidate for a sports psychologist, this is the guy.

There were a few plays he and Gabe were playing hot potato from behind the arc. Neither wanted to miss or had confidence in their open 3.

    This one was not OK.

If he was Steph or 4-5 from 3 and really cooking, fine. But he was awful shooting the ball. Awful decision from the point guard.

At least the defensive effort is there.

He's improved from game 1, which wasn't that difficult, but he has to be more assertive and not question himself so much. You need to go with the flow man, you got the talent, you're a good fit, just trust your instincts more instead of overthinking every play and screwing it up.

Cranjiss does this were he picks a stat that players are good at it to justify lineups but it doesn't show the whole picture. That backcourt doesn't do anything on the glass or stopping lobs etc

lol, he actually brainfarted his way into a GREAT look from three. and then missed it.

yeah, i'm thrilled that his defense has carried over from preseason, but he was also himself on offense then. we need that pretty desperately.

and i agree with pioneer that both gabe and dlo playing solid defense doesn't mean that together it's part of our best possible defensive lineup.

i really think their minutes together need to be more limited than they or ham do (i think all three have said it helps them, but i'm not seeing it clearly).

True, but this does support the eye test of his efforts defensively being better than it's been at any other point in his career.

He and Gabe have both been fine - good until their man puts the ball on the floor and they can't stay with them. That's not ideal, but at least with proper coaching they can funnel the man straight into AD.

But both have had active hands, have gotten into the chest of their man, and have mucked up some of the other team's actions.

I don't love playing them together because there's redundancy and limitations based on their skill sets and it also limits lineup options when both have to rest at the same time.
