It’s the Coaching Staff’s job to get the best out of him on THIS squad. Also, Gabe, needs to hit shots to be effective since he’s really a small 2 and isn’t a playmaker. I hope he really works on becoming a better defender. Also, it’s just been ONE game so far.
What the actual f***?! 35 minutes, too many 4th Q minutes, 0-5 from 3, 3-10 FGs. Still think he'll figure it out, but this is a rough start. Let's ease him in and try Max out for 10 of those minutes.
Jesus does Ham love small PG's. WTF is he playing him so many minutes especially paired with D.Lo in the backcourt. That makes no f***ing sense: team just go over around them when they're on D and the glass.
Felt this was one of those situations where Ham stubbornly kept in the lineup that made the comeback. But in actuality I don’t think Vincent contributed anything to the comeback (or the win at all). He was just kinda out there running around lol 100% there is no reason he should be playing that much. When AR subbed back in during the 4th, it should have been for Vincent not DLo.
His effort is there defensively, he's getting body to body with his assignment, but when you're getting blown by Eric Gordon (listed at 215, closer to 230) that's a big problem.
0-9 from 3. the curse gets the best shooters when they sign here, it absolutely gobbles up mediocre ones
So far, whatever Malik Beasley had with us, Vincent seems to have come down with it, too. It's nonsensical, but it really does seem like the Lakers are the team that's cursed for 3-point bombers. We shot 17% from the arc. Lots of those looks were open. Shouldda beat the crap out of PHO, but it's sweet beating them. Our spacing is still bad, but the D is really good and only getting started. This should be a really good team this year. I for one am stoked!
hmmm...i thought the spacing was fine--or at least the theory behind it. phx left everyone open to mitigate it, and we obliged by missing almost every single wide open three we had, even from our better shooters. i think the defense was really bad (defensive rebounding is part of defense) for three quarters, too. anyway, this is the gabe thread, and we gave him three years guaranteed, so that's great.
The thing is, he's under 34% for his career so that playoff run could have very well been a fluke. He shoots it similar to Dennis on a bit more volume and I wouldn't call Dennis a shooter.
He played great. Always active defensively and a few good plays on offense. He's always at 100% and you know what you gonna get every night. Only variation is the shot, hope he starts knocking a few
It’s odd to me that Dennis is 6’1” and 172 lbs compared to Gabe who’s 6’3” and 200 … yet he seems more smurf like hauling a** all over the court than Schroder did (to me). Maybe it’s the hair and beard combo.
What a silly foul on fox at the end of the 4th quarter. Why is this guy playing so many minutes late?
He's a good defender. Dumb foul but other than that love him on D. He's a complete scrub on offense though..
