i'm guessing that sometime in december, when our blunder here is clear, people who know how we ended up spending more money on gabe than toronto did on schroder will come forward with the details.
Ouch. I think Schroeder was gone either way. He wanted to be in a system that accentuated his abilities and let him shine more like he does in intl ball. He said Toronto was that place, so to be fair to the Lakers, I don't think they had a great chance to keep him. but if we are paying Gabe more, it just goes to show you what a mess NBA contracts are. Yikes.
i think dennis gets slightly more per year, but gabe's was three years. my hope is that dennis decided ahead of time, and we quickly pursued gabe to cover the spot. that's ok with me. but if dennis just asked for the full mle for three years from us, and we pivoted...yikes...

It’s true, dude is a bench player, it’s his best role, come in and hound dudes on defense, more of a green light to score with backups.
yep, it's as i expected--he left because we wouldn't give him the starting spot and toronto would. but toronto--like every other nba team--decided he's best as a backup. if he's causing problems there, i will give them gabe's corpse for dennis. perhaps a top-50 protected 2nd in addition.
ham would totally give schroder the starting spot. i still think dlo should start, but ham would start his boy.
if we threw 2 2nds on top of gabe, you think toronto does it? they'd be short a pg for a few weeks (or forever).
