And you know what, as long as the defense and effort is there then I don't care about the offense. He's not going to be featured offensively in the regular season in his standard role. Most nights, he's 9th on the list of scoring options.

    This.

He’ll find mins this season from defense/hustle more than his scoring. In summer league he was featured, now not so much and it looks like hes trying to force things a little.

His offense will come around. We haven’t even started the real games yet. Patience.

haven't seen his play in the third game yet, but in the first one he was great, and in the second one he had a couple shots just rattle out. looked pretty good offensively, imo.

Max was out of sync offensively early. What I liked was he didn't let that stop him from still playing defense and doing other things. Finally came around a little. What is good/fun about thus team is we are so deep everyone has to stay on there A game.

Aside from Bron, who, you know it, gonna chuck 3s... And AD apparently will join him in the dumbest offensive direction ever.

lol...unless lebron and AD shoot 40% from three, there are going to be some long nights in the game thread...

Surely, Ham is just trying to be enthusiastic and supportive of his guys...lol. The one thing I have learned about this coach is to not put any stock in what he says. The way the team is playing, it must be more coherent behind closed doors. Granted this a loaded team but they are playing good team ball for the most part. IMO Rob made a conscious effort to limit the small ball combinations available. He saw what we did. So a lot of credit to him. GV seems solid.

Ham is an excellent pumperupper guy. But I think you are right. Best not to take what he says too literal.

I think Toklat is right in that he likes that microphone too much and you can no longer believe what he says and preaches because often you see something else. If the true snipers on the team were to get the number of 3s taken they should, just because of the scoring efficiency of the 3 ball, then AD firing up 6 (unless he's smart enough not to) and LeBron chucking means that's almost all we'll be doing. Maybe naively I have more faith in AD and LeBron's BB intelligence than that.

This is how I see it. I think he mainly wants our guys to be confident taking shots and I see the comments to AD being specifically to encourage him to fully take the reigns as our number one guy.

ok, i've now seen part of the third game, and max looked like he let the no-calls get to him a bit. not that i blame him. sabonis definitely fouled him on the dunk attempt, so much so that everyone kinda stopped playing for a beat. and then he got bumped again trying to drive and lost the ball.

lol, video staff needs to send film to nba refs; it's like he's got a target on his back in the preseason.

Kind of looks like a younger version of Prince out there. Lot of defense, drill open 3s, and enough skill to keep the D honest driving.

Lakers looked really tough with both Prince and Christie to play the 3 and D. Max and the whole team really swing the ball to get the open 3. Shades of that last Duncan Spurs title team

Such great elevation and good form on his 3 ball. Jeezus they keep screwing him royally on D and blew other obvious calls against us. WTF …. over?

Good call. Prince said on the post game that he actually grew up watching the Spurs.
