lol, none of those are made up, and you don't get to arbitrarily say Boumtje's dash doesn't count lol.

It was a random statement and claim for sure, but I do feel I can back it up with more stats if I cared enough. There are actually some pretty good players, but some of them I ran across so far, are not using their given name, but the name after them converted to Islam.

    Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (Chris Jackson)
    Shareef Abdur-Rahim
Al-Farouq Aminu (Not sure about that one - two first names or two last names haha)

but it's easier to find the scrubs for sure.

He’ll be better once he’s used to NBA speeds, he has the skillset and physical tools. Unfortunately that might not be this year and I kind of wanted somebody NBA ready at his draft position.

The JHS fans are trying to distract me and @KareemtheGreat33 with this last name business. My eyes are glazing over so it looks like it working.

He's not good right now - need to send him to G-League for sure. He has no jumper, is a headcase on defense, and can't finish even when he beats people off the drribble. I hope i'm wrong but the early returns on him are not good and it sucks that we burned the 17th pick on him when Cam Whitmore was available.

He has the physical tools to be a damn good player though...so that part is there. But it's the skills part that I'm worried about, especially his shooting both from 3 and from 2-pt range...and his finishign ability. Sucks that he isn't good at ANY of those 3 things right now...then again, he's young and hopefully he can develop.

Where's @Barnstable when we need him most?!? We need some kind of site counter in this thread that keeps track of how many times Cam Whitmore is mentioned.

Given the hype Cam Whitmore had going into the draft and the fact that Cam Whitmore was still available when we were on the clock, there's naturally going to be some comparisons between JHS and Cam Whitmore. There's also the matter of other needs at the time vs who was there -- it's the difference between the literal Cam Whitmore and the figurative Cam Whitmore. Are we talking Cam Whitmore as in Brandin Podziemski. Cam Whitmore as in Kris Murray. Cam Whitmore as in Olivier-Maxence Prosper. Cam Whitmore as in Leonard Miller. Or Cam Whitmore as in Cam Whitmore.

I think JHS will be good... next year. Whether we have a role ready for him next year is a more complicated question (DLO, Gabe, AR, and Bron are the ball handlers) and has more variables than whether we could've had a role ready for Cam Whitmore next year (Prince and Cam...Reddish, not Cam Whitmore, will likely both be gone).

JHS wouldn't have been my pick going in, but he's here and the vets are praising his work. More than I see the Rockets vets praising Cam Whitmore. Gotta trust our scouts, they're typically right, and enjoy watching him with the D-League this year. Based on the wing depth the Rockets have, we might see JHS and Cam Whitmore battle in the D- League this season.

*this post will break any counter that's installed.

Yeah, I'm just laughing at the Cam Whitmore takeover of the JHS thread. If I remember, there were reasons why several teams passed on Whitmore including a physical concern and an attitude concern. I have no idea if JHS is going to ever be a valuable contributor on this team, but I agree the scouts have earned the benefit of the doubt. Doesn't mean that they can't miss on a pick, but they haven't missed much recently.

I don’t consider SL a great indicator with its level of talent and the players a PG has around him to rack up dimes by them converting and to make plays for. Compared to the level of players JHS now has around him in practice every day on this squad to do the same and have to compete against. Where …. FACT he has been called out first by Hayes (or someone else) and then coach Ham (and maybe, not sure) other players as looking pretty good. And even more difficult …. playing time in his first two practice games against other teams’ NBA level players. The latter two situations through last night’s game has encompassed all of 7 calendar days. Yet ignoring what’s come out of camp from eye witness team comments and the one week at this level …. there’s just so “many” statements of what he can’t (not “so far”, can’t) (or, of course will have to work on) do. Can’t shoot, has no J, has no burst and the like. Seven days!

    THEY'RE MADE UP!

anyway, abdul-rauf was badass (though mostly as chris jackson--oh s***, that's a point in your favor), and abdur-rahim was an allstar.

dorian finney-smith is upset at your allegations!

this is my thing. i STILL disagree that he's slow or something. i see him getting to his spots over and over and just not being a threat to score once there. give him some seasoning in the g-league (and then probably another year against the big boys), and we'll know. and the good news is we don't have to make important contract decisions before that.

i like his size and strength (he's big/physical for an nba sg, imo), and he's shown some acumen with pace and vision. i also think he's a guy who will work on that shot until it's serviceable (it will never be great).

and yes, i'll be watching CAM WHITMORE and the other 7 guys drafted after him that i liked with GREAT INTEREST.

f*** me he looks great with the trash Houston has. Going to vomit every time he has a highlight when he could be getting so many easy looks on this team

whitmore's going to make quite a few GMs look like absolute fools for passing on him. i get why he slipped, (injury concerns and refusal to workout for teams outside top 9) but anyone who isn't blind can see how much talent is there

i don't have high hopes for JHS at all. can't shoot, can't defend. just a bad pick
