sorry if already posted elsewhere but I like the thought of a fired up, motivated and ready to lead AD coming into the season.

Love it .... his personality is starting to shine more and he's more outgoing. Like Rui seems really really happy with where he and the team are at.

No, it's really true. Numbers of 25 or 10 dwarf in comparison to what he is capable of. I'm holding him to the standard of what he is capable of every day. He can sleep walk and run into 25/10, and that's just fax.

    I'm looking for 35/15/4/4

And some snarling for 75 games a year. If he can't do that, we're just not getting his best every night. That's the level of talent the guy has. The only other excuse is having too stacked of a team, but when it's winning time, that needs to happen.

You kind of ignore the periods where he’s not 100% and playing through pain and an injury just to be out there on the floor and not getting ragged on in the media. He did a good amount of that last year too.

so we can debate why he is injured all of the time, but the consensus was that he didn't not prepare as well as he should have as a professional athlete for the grind he would need to put his body through. That's why 6'2" guards can block him out and guard him on the block.

Planted legs that bodies fall into and twisted ankles from landing on feet are nothing more than s*** happens injuries that can happen to any player, especially as active in the air both sides of the ball and all over the court as Davis. The first time he gets another all the crap will start up again. It’s beyond tiring and unfair. You don’t prepare for those. Look at James and ALL his unworldly preparation each season and they get him as well. A lot of the time missed has been to those very types of injuries.

You didn’t not catch my double negative and therefore your response didn’t not make sense. :)

Wut? You’ve been on him nonstop for years. He gutted out a lot of last year and makes no difference seemingly to you.

As far as being on him, calling him a Robin vs a Batman, I sure have and deservedly so. No mamba mentality except for spurts.

It’s fact. The man can disappear for quarters at a time, but at the same time can still post gaudy stats.

even if Kobe was injured he’d still try to control or take over the game. It’s obviously very unfair, but all Laker “greats” will be compared to his shadow for the next 20 years or so. He played through injuries. AD hasn’t to the same degree. No idea if Kobe could play through the same injuries or not, but this big man hits the floor far more than he should.

I look forward to putting all those concerns of the past in the dumpster this year. AD is ready to be MVP. Allegedly.

if anyone feels the need to ignore all of the obvious stuff we’ve seen along the way and make excuses for him, that’s their prerogative. I feel like grown men millionaire athletes don’t need to be enabled by fans or have them making excuses for them.

And fans are free to disagree with each other’s takes. If I feel like I see things you don’t or vice versa, it just is what it is.

You have chosen to provide excuses for him. I have chosen to provide motivation to prove fans wrong that he’s not injury prone. We are both right to some degree most likely.

i'm looking for 32pts/9ast/7reb a game from austin reaves this year. and some snarling. and 75+ games at 34mpg. it's clear what's been holding him back is his lack of preparation. if he wasn't golfing all the time, he'd be the very best player in the game, and that's the standard i'm holding him to. you can count on me to be in his thread, s***ting on him left and right because he's failing to meet this very reasonable standard.

One big difference. AD has put up those numbers before. AR has not. Me expecting it is reasonable AND justified.

you expecting it is just being silly

nobody has put up 35 and 14 since wilt.

    jokic was 25/12 last year.

    embiid was 33/10.

btw, both said they barely touched a ball this summer.

OK, I expect Ludabrow to put up 34 while playing DPOY level defense.
If not he's failure. Dammit go be a 6'11" Michael Jordan in 1987. Go be Hakeem but with 8 more points a game. Go do that or you're a disappointment and I'm going to go on a message board and talk trash.
    Am I doing this right?

You talk about Mamba mentality but Kobe never accomplished what you expect Ludabrow to accomplish. When Kobe was averaging 30+ he was being hidden on defense and when he was locking guys down, that was when Shaq was on the team. So you demand things that Kobe never had to do. Imagine being Kobe in the 2006 playoffs being expected to lock down Steve Nash while dropping 50, that's impossible. No one can do that.

This is just bordering on being ridiculous and I'm not sure if you're being serious or if you're just trolling.

well not EVERY game or actually averaging that much - that was exaggeration for effect. I just do expect a shift in mentality. Don't let smaller players take you out of the game. BE BATMAN. All the time. Impact the game always.

There are times in the past where he has coasted and not impacted the game. Due to injury? Maybe. Love to see him bring it up a notch and have more of the big nights than before. When he was on fire last year, he was in the conversation for being the best player in the game.

    why not both?

I exaggerate like every fan for the positive or the negative, but I can tell you I do expect more than he has given in the past, and more consistently.

But it IS better than blind fanboyism. It least it's a reason for debate vs just slobbering on our players all the time. AD has slobber moments, but he has more gag moments than I'd like to remember too. One solid playoff run recently doesn't remove all of that. I'm surprised people are not more objective.
