There are zero morals for those obsessed with more.

 

These are some real signs that this upcoming season maybe it for James. Olympics is a lot of miles to put on during the off-season and it his age even if he plays few minutes he's got to know that will decrease the chances of him both staying healthy and winning the following year.

Responding to the last dance in the Olympics bit was another hint that he's at least aware of it

 

he knows we are good hands with Reaves, so that's cool he's ready to take a step back.

(Actually he's trying to improve his resume so more people think he's the GOAT - Let's call it what it is. He doesn't give a crap about the USA or anyone but himself in the big picture)

 

I don't think people look at Olympics when discussing the GOAT - Durant and Melo would be in the Mt Rushmore of team USA as an example <shrug>

 

I think it depends on the player and Olympic team. Everyone on The Dream team except Laettner (guess they really needed a gopher while they were there) got a boost. Kobe on the Redeem Team. KD isn't getting any favors from the media because he's a d*** and they rightfully don't like him. Melo's career had a lot of twists and turns that make the tricky.

But I do think Bron winning a championship (and having a 50% chance at finals mvp in that scenario) and a gold medal in the span of a few months in year 21 would do something for the resumé.

 

I think he will play for a long time. He's in great shape still. He wants to play with his son and he should want to break some records being the oldest to...
But I'm ok if he leaves next summer (he has a PO), we're ready for the next generation with AD, Reaves, Rui (and possibly Gabe and/or Max) fronting the appeal to a new superstar who may want to join. And we have Dlo expiring contract ready to be dealt along 3(!!!)FRPs (26,28,30). We can really make a bing swing
