he's very passive and soft physically. If he can find a way to play like his hair's on fire he will be very good.If stays passive and soft..........
interesting that boston tried to nab him with a two-way. he's a project, but with very high upside. even though he's older than max was, he'll take longer, imo. great speed, good size, the shot will get better with coaching and isn't bad. question is whether he learns how to play a role that works for him--he can't be the scorer he was in college, needs to think more corey brewer type.
No wonder Lewis has such athleticism …. check out his thighs in the additional pics. Forgot all about what’s going on with him in the off season and with Schifino.
he's got the size and athleticism to play in the league and an interesting set of skills that he'll need to improve upon. there's a reason he was being considered as a mid-1st for a good chunk of time. if this were last year, i might expect him to get some reps on the varsity, but we're crowded at his spot (finally) and expecting to contend, so i think he gets a year in the g-league.
yeah, he moves like a star, if that makes sense. long arms and legs, smooth but with some quickness. not sure what to do with that shot, though--do you rebuild it from scratch? he's not a bad shooter, but he's releasing that thing like in front of his chin. not quite a shawn marion flick, but trending that way. anyway, like most 2nd rounders, he's going to need to get on the floor with defense. with those arms and that speed, he should be able to play defense at some point, right?
I agree. We have so much veteran talent and stacked with young guys fighting for significant playing time it is going to be hard to get minutes or even seconds on the V squad. It is nice to be developing a good level of young talent for longevity instead of stock piling veterans in massive decline hoping for a miracle in turning back the clock. IMO a much better strategy acknowledging you need vets to lead the way. I'm considering Austin a vet from this point on. Going to be a fun season.
I hope he has an Ariza like trajectory... he's my favorite of the young guys we've brought in this offseason. He has the size, length and athleticism you want on the wing... just need for him to put it all together.
Yeah, some of those shots start from his bellybutton lol SWAT! But at least he can keep the defender honest by being able to put the ball on the floor. That should give him some spacing to work with.
i like that he's bringing back hotpants. pierre jackson must be a terror in the open gym. i remember dudes like that.
that low starting point to the release and slow speed of it, seems like he'll get swatted a lot on that shot if he takes it.
