My belief is theyre keeping him hostage til the moratorium ends hoping nobody will notice They then proceed to file a missing persons report saying he never showed and then on july 9th he'll walk out like nothing ever happened with a pen in his hand not knowing what transpired the last few days and then realizing he's a laker Thats totally what happened dudes
If its one or the other I would take it as a better sign things are going well. If it was under an hour or less than we know it was likely a pity party meeting like Mason, Ireland, and Ramona were talking about today. But it is still going on has to be an encouraging sign
If LMA goes back to Portland I'll lose all respect for him like I did Melo last summer. Even if he doesn't come here, SA and Phoenix offer him a better chance at winning than a Portland team that already lost 3 of their 5 best players this summer. Just like Melo should have went to Chi if he cared at all about winning.
Ha ha I was just going to say this. They've got Aldridge handcuffed to the wall, he'll emerge on the 9th at 9:01, signed contract in hand, sporting a new beard, dirty clothes, and squinting at the light.
By that logic, wouldn't you lose respect for him if he signed here too? We're not close to winning, he's got no incentive to sign here at all. At least if he stayed in Portland he could say he still has Lillard, loves the city and has made it home, and doesn't have go through the process of moving his life. Plus they're still better than we are even after losing the players they have.
I don't get why they're even meeting. He's 30, he wants a title, we have nothing to offer him. If money is all he wants Portland can give it to him and he doesn't have to move. The only reason to come here is if you want to live in LA, or to be the man of this franchise when Kobe retires instead of being kinda forgotten behind Aldridge.
I never heard that other than like one tweet. One random tweet doesn't make something true. I've never seen anything on the court between them that makes me think they don't get along. Maybe he feels under-appreciated compared to Lillard, who has come in and been clutch and celebrated and just got PAID, but that's not the same as not liking him.
he already lives here the only way he comes here if we somehow did a 360 from our meeting yesterday and is floored by the new proposal but like i said i'll keep my expectations down
that can probably be another factor, i think lillard came in and stole his thunder and rubbed him the wrong way so he decided to look elsewhere he was also good friends with wes matthews and always gave him props so without his sidekick he's prob the odd man out
