I’d probably go as high as 25m for him. But I’d prefer it to be sub 20m. I just don’t want to let go of an asset for nothing.

would love to be a fly on the wall during negotiations...feel like both sides could make some points that would leave a pretty wide gulf in the numbers.

All fair points I would agree with. For me, Dlo is just not my ideal answer as our starting PG. PG was our weakest position in the playoffs and we were exposed. We really missed that veteran presence that Rondo brought. I also agree with most ppl here that I don’t want to lose Dlo for nothing in return…this would be the worst move. I’d rather explore something else at the PG position (CP3 would a better and a cheaper option) and get an asset like Ben in return. At a minimum, he can play a similar role that Vanderbilt played for us last season. If he doesn’t fit what we need, we can always flip him to another team later.

Again, disclaimer here is how we can plug the PG position and construct the rest of the roster. If we can’t get anything better, roll the dice with Dlo and let’s go from there.

I still like Dlo and want to keep him but it all comes down to money. Austin is going to be running the offense and Max is going to start taking more and more of the two guard minutes and. The three of them together would be a great rotation but we can't pay top dollar for a guy that might not even be starting by late season. Hopefully he ups his game and kills it, just don't see evidence of that. Big fan though and would like to see it.

I can see how the Lakers may have lost some interest in Dlo after the way he disappeared at times in the playoffs and maybe missed an unnecessary amount of games leading up to them with the ankle. It’s clear that he is not a $30 million a year player. I’d cap the offer at $25 per, max. I’d love it to be lower but not sure he and his agent will go down further than that. I feel like a two year $40-50 million is fair to both sides but we shall see.

He’s a very talented player and his offensive game seems to complement Lebron AD and Reaves. But his head still isn’t quite there. He matured since last time but he doesn’t seem quite serious enough. Not sure Lebron trusts him either.

I think our only realistic option here is to sign him for a reasonable amount and look to trade him later in the season after teams are looking to shake up their rosters. I think that LeBron won’t like it, but this is one of the areas where Rob will earn his money- smoothing things over by painting DLo in a more favorable light. I think that this can be excepted by LeBron if Rob brings in his buddy, CP3.

This is the best option and it may just be with a training camp and pre-season he might actually stick. Going to be hard for him to keep a starting job here so trading him is the most likely result.

hmmm...i've said 2/50 with a team option or partial guarantee (half of the second year) was something i'd offer. but my guess is his agent comes in asking for more than 25 per to start (for the sake of negotiation). so i'm not sure what the "salary he wants" is.

a short-term deal is better than a long one--though i think he'll still be moveable on a long-term deal provided the price is right. his game should age well enough to carry him through age 31, barring unforeseen injury.

I was thinking and actually Dlo on a long term contract is the best way we get a superstar in a trade a couple years from now. If we don't have his big (~20mil) contract, we don't have any pieces to move for a big haul when LeBron leaves

bingo. having three guys at that 20-25 salary that are viable is pretty valuable. we're about to watch damian lillard go for less than two of those, imo. cap space isn't the way. having movable, combinable contracts is the way. and picks. which is why i was happy we only gave up one to get off russ.

Yup. 2026 is the year to watch, a bunch of guys (Giannis, Tatum, Shai, Mitchell, Bam, JJJ) could be unrestricted free agents. I want to be the team that can get one of them a year or half a year early because we have the right contracts to trade and teams don't want to lose them for nothing.

Yes please. Start the offer at $15 per and go up to $20 if another team is in play.

His legs look weak, and he’s so cool he must immediately put house slippers on. Where’s his drink sponsor at?

I take him as seriously as he takes his craft.

If Beerdo McFloppington has been able to use this shove his entire career as his main method of gaining separation, than so should others.
