That man just dropped a 40 piece and played 48 minutes. I am more than cool with him, taking all the time that he feels like he needs, to be as close to healthy as possible. This particular injury isn't career threatening. He should spend the offseason recouping, shooting 3's and FT's..no hooping.
Wouldn’t it be something…………..if Boston won the next two? Sooner or later, this year or next, or some year, history will be made.
something awful. but not at all surprising, imo. miami has vastly overperformed and boston had vastly underperformed, simple regression to both teams' means would make it possible. put it this way: the odds of miami beating boston in three straight games are lower than the odds of boston beating miami in 4 straight games. the fact that the first happened only serves to potentially increase the likelihood of the second, if only due purely to differences in motivation and in gains/losses focus on the part of the teams. iow, boston is now playing to make history while miami is playing to avoid being an embarrassing historical footnote. miami's gotten to play the role of plucky underdog right up until they went up 3-0, imo. i imagine spoelstra's working overtime to try to get his guys thinking about what it would mean to win (instead of ruminating about what it would mean to lose). boston doesn't have this mental issue anymore, as even if they win in 7 (they should have won in 5, mind you), it's a huge accomplishment (instead of an embarrassment).
my god, just imagine how badly butler will get destroyed on social media/TV if the heat actually blow this (i don't think they will) C Bags medical staff is amazing. with the exception of brown/smart missing some time in the regular season, they've managed to make it through 2 deep playoff runs fully healthy. pretty incredible. the good thing is that even if they do come back and win the series, denver should take care of them in the finals
Firing the best coach in the league (Pop aside, since he is very old and has a bad team) would not be a smart move.
RIGHT?! my dad and i were talking about this. like everyone stayed healthy basically all year after a finals run, and nobody's gone down in the playoffs, either. there's a lot of luck in there, too. al horford's like lebron's age! and he played close to 30mpg this year! 29 teams should fire their guy and pick him up. but it's not happening. again the miracle wouldn't be boston coming back, it was that miami got there and got up 3-0 in the first place.
