oh they had plenty of missed chances to win games in this series, but denver was the better team and they showed why
yeah, let's not forget where things were in february. we got half a season and three rounds of playoffs that we had no business getting. det didn't fade immediately. they had the league's best record the next year and were contenders for a couple more. but yes, i see it that way, too. honestly, you can't be 6 deep like them with two injury prone players and keep contending, even with jokic. they got super lucky healthwise, and they may ride it to the ring. good for them. when aaron gordon hit his third three, i knew it was done. if he could hit that shot with any regularity, he'd be a star. we just weren't going to beat them. they kept making bad shots and we kept missing good ones. rui and dennis both had wide open threes after that, iirc, both missed.
I hoped that this was going to be a cinderella story run to number 18 but can’t really be mad at how the season finished. We’ve been playing playoff like basketball since the trade deadline and finally hit the wall against a better team this series. We could have won any of the 4 games but fatigue finally hit. Was a big fan of Jokic and Denver to win it all if it wasn’t us but damn did they talk a lot. Rooting for Miami now. Pat Riley aside, Butler and that team are really easy to root for.
I am fine with either team winning. They worked really hard and deserve to be in the finals. Both Jimmy and Joker are awesome, they have my respect and I’ll watch them battle for sure.
If it's not us, I'm not rooting for any Western Conference team. I have zero Conference loyalty, they are all enemies IMO. Except against Boston, then the enemy of my enemy, is a temporary friend.
no team has ever come back from being down 3-0 in a series and this C Bags team is not going to be the first
I agree with the sentiment. Malone's mouth and sideline antics turned me sour on Denver, BUT, I would really like to see Joker win a ring. Dude is too good to play his career winless. I hope this is like the year Dirk won after knocking us out and then the Mavs went back to never winning again ever.
I was looking at the last 3 minutes of the game, and at 2:29 the lakers make a basket and jokic goes to take ball out , but clock is still running. He inbounds the ball at 2:23 seconds left. That's 6 seconds of lost time. I know it is are clock person's fault but 6 secs. Then when it is 111 to 111 and Murray falls down and ball goes out of bounds, you can see it goes off of Murray's hand. The ref clear across the court on opposite side overrules. Something wrong with that.
damn it, i was hoping boston would get swept too. can't see them losing all 3 at home either so i think this one's going 6
i mean, they'd have to be the likeliest team in history to do it. for 82 games (84 if you count the heat's pretty lame play-in performances), boston was the best team in the league, and miami was like, the 20th best. totally possible that miami's guards stop hitting (they missed most of the year), butler returns to human form, and boston wins 4 in a row against a team that, on paper and in terms of tangible results over a long period of time, is vastly inferior. still, winning 4 straight is hard. but they got one of the hardest ones already.
i don't see boston losing all 3 home games in the series. i think they win game 5 and miami closes it out in 6
FWIW, the sweep by Denver had all four games being decided by only 24 points combined which is the smallest margin of victory for any sweep in NBA history. When you consider DLO having a horrible series and Lebron playing injured and the team just being tired in the 4th quarters, this team was an inch from having this series tied and going to 7. It sucks but it is not that much to address in the off season. Of course the problem is going to be Lebron and dealing with his injuries and him actually having the will to rehab and come back. We can tweak the team enough to take us over a 6 pt per game hump. Just not sure that Lebron can get well and then continue his pace.
