That's a dangerous play. Only way we should look elsewhere in free agency is if he opts to leave for more cash. It's a very bad fringe starter/backup PG market this year. There's Rose and Seth Curry, end of list. There's a lot of competition for each and don't want to be on the outside looking in on that one.

If we HAVE to (if he leaves), I think Jevon Carter is the smart, realistic play. Within our price range and history with Ham.

I'm not sure PG is the priority, it depends on who is available that wants to play here, maybe at a paycut. There are some decent names available this summer at other positions.

For instance...I'd rather sign Brook Lopez over Dennis, if he took the money. We'll find another backup point.

Well if DLO is back, a high level backup PG has to be a big priority. It's really the only position with uncertainty at the starting spot. That alone ranks it pretty high on the priority list.

D'Angelo ain't coming back bro. Lebron will see to that. Imo we need another big, but it depends on what else we could get for Russell and Beasley, maybe Bamba too. There are a lot of possibilities, our core is set, D'Angelo and Malik won't be part of it next season.

Would definitely want Schroeder back, he is a winning player. His defence is important and he can get hot offensively. To me these are the sure things I’d want back:

    AD / - / -
    Lebron / Vando / Gabriel
    - / Rui / -
    AR / - / Christie
    - / Schroeder

Austin, Rui,Lebron, AD, that's the core. Vanderbilt, Max and Wenyen are pretty much locks. It's all up in the air after that IMO. Dennis is in a tough spot, we might not get all that we want through a trade. There might be a ring chaser that presents more value, than him available this summer. It's not the talent, I like Dennis, it's the money.

Dude competes and a strong defender despite his size but he shouldn’t be a decision maker at the big moments during the game. Played a big part of that 3rd quarter debacle.

I’d bring him back as a back up PG… not comfortable with him starting. He’s a Ham favorite so longer leash when sometimes we need it shorter.

I want Dennis back, but I think someone will offer him more than what we can or are willing to.

We get Bird rights on Wenyen, with one more vet min contract. He's not going anywhere.

these are my thoughts on DS. great backup pg, but he's not a floor general and you cannot start him. i think every team knows that now, so he's looking at exceptions. mayyybe someone throws him a tyus jones contract, but i doubt it. i think if we offer him a 2 year tpmle with a PO, we can keep him. again, the ham relationship should help. (and i agree that it hurts sometimes on the court because there's actually too much trust there).

oohh tough one. probably the big fella, but i don't think he'll be available for that. mil's got his bird rights and aren't idiots like we were when we had them.

It won't come down to either of them because Brook is getting way more than what we can offer.

Yeah. I haven't mentioned Brook because I just don't see how we could get him. Gotta think the front office burned that bridge completely which is definitely a shame.

he keeps leaving out the tpmle from his scenarios. i think that's what we offer dennis. two years, player option on second year. would leave us with the ability to pay him substantially more using bird rights if he opted out next year.

who's offering schroder 15 per, even for two years? who's offering full mle for more than two years? if nobody is, i could see him sticking where he's comfortable with the potential to make more cash going forward.
