These are the games where I feel like a long term deal could bite us in the a**.

 

I think this is just what you’re gonna get from DLO, it wouldn’t be a problem if he was making 15m per because he helps win you 2-3 games in a 7 game series. But as a 30m option, it’s tough when he goes missing for half a series.

Too bad he’s not as consistent and as strong as Reaves. Should have a good bounce back game 2. BETTER have a good bounce back game 2!

 

You just can’t have your guard who’s a “shooter” go 0/3 from the 3pt line. AD has been largely criticized for his inconsistencies in these playoffs but Dlo is not far behind. Wake up and tighten the screws dude.

 

When he has a bad game, he is complete trash, -25 on the court in limited minutes. He can't run out a 3 to save his life.

 

We can't win this series with him playing like this in my opinion, we need everybody to step up.

 

Defense and lack of physical play are also my big concerns for him. I just don't see next level capability in him. Solid regular season player and part time playoffs. But at 27 when you can't show up every game and be consistent, it doesn't appear to be in your DNA.

I’m not as down on DLo as a lot of you. He’s had his ups and downs which is frustrating, but overall he was positive for us in both of the first two series.

The idea that a poor Game 1 in the WCF should result in us not re-signing him and just letting him walk without any cap to replace him? Naw, pass on that. Hell, he can stink it up the rest of the post-season, and it would still make sense to me to bring him back from an asset management perspective. If the argument is he’s inconsistent in the intensity of the playoffs, I mean there is still a lot of value for us to have someone who can take the scoring load off Lebron/AD in the regular season, and you could likely flip him down the line.

Plus is an 0/3 three point game really that atrocious? He makes one of them, and now he’s at 5/11 shooting overall on the game. Not terrible. And I don’t think his -25 +/- is really on him, that’s more of an indictment on the team defense for the first 75% of the game.

Overall, yeah he stunk. But I think we have to stick with him, because he has shown us multiple times that he can catch fire and single handedly change the course of a game.

Just… keep him on a short leash. I say keep him in the starting lineup, but if it’s clear he doesn’t have it that night, ride Dennis
