that's what you get when you build your team around two of the most overrated players in the league in Embiid and Harden, and historically poor playoff performers.
if people cared about anything other than ppg, they'd see why i wouldn't trade AD for embiid. that and the one good year in orlando that got him the boston job. guy's snowed everybody. the forerunner to tyronn lue. yeah, i don't really dislike any of their players, and i especially like tatum & brown, both of whom were drafted #3 when we drafted at #2 (though ingram is better than brown still, imo, but it's super close). ouch. i even don't mind marcus smart, tbh. i really don't want to see these guys in the finals if we get there. and i also reserve my right to claim they're all the spawn of satan at that point. yeah, simmons hasn't done anything to help his own case, but i still feel good about my take that it was ridiculous how they scapegoated him for the team's failures. own up, losers. who's embiid going to blame this time?
re: bubble title--it will still be "fake" no matter what happens this year because people who called it fake don't work with objective facts.
i think they ruined him. and yeah, some of that is certainly on him for not responding with fortitude, but i was shocked at how they threw him under the bus. shameful, imo, and not something good teammates or organizations do.
I don’t think your own team should ever call out a player in the press whether it’s true or not. Do it behind closed doors. I do think Ben has some skills but is a mental midget. Those kinds of players will never be stars IMO. Everyone has talent at the NBA level, it’s the ones that have the mental game down that turn it up in the playoffs.
i agree with all of this. my issue was that not only do you just keep this in house, but embiid isn't a prime time performer, either. and trading simmons for harden because simmons wasn't a playoff performer is hilarious. harden looked like a confused child out there tonight. we'll hear very little about it, i'm guessing, but my god that was hard to watch even as the guy who spent the last decade telling everyone harden wasn't a real star.
good question. i think we would have. but we'd have had to give up less in addition to him, which may have helped us later. but if we were going to make the russ trade, all hope was lost no matter what. i'm good with how it all went, tbh. i care more about our success than the C Bags' failure. and it's possible that missing on that pick made the AD move happen. remember boston held tatum out of talks, which, among other things (i.e., their objectively bad track record with their recent star players) kept them from getting AD after espn told us for two years that he was boston bound. oh, f*** this guy. you two s*** the bed. i watched it. ridiculous. and again, everyone's like "oh, we're getting apologetic AD after this game". well, i'd MUCH PREFER it!
I just realized that Lakers won't have home court even if Miami will win the east. Miami has 44 wins ,Lakers 43 Crazy crazy season
