I'll eat some crow, I did not think Ham had it in him for the playoffs and he's been great.

He got Kerr scrambling earlier in the series with the starting line up changes but then adjusted every time. Still some questionable things but overall no complaints. He's got us playing like the best team out there. Denver's gonna be tough though, curious to see what he has in store for Jokic.

Brawn against brawn .... he's finally going to unleash the "water buffalo" on the Joker to rough him up when AD is out. Similar to role Dwight played in the Bubble.

Let Jokic score all he can but try to slow/shut down everyone else? Go at him on offense.

If we can put big defense bodies on him and have AD there as a roamer, that could be interesting. The problem is their PF shoots 3's right?

Should be some good chess coming up.

Denver is a good 3pt shooting team. In the playoffs the starting 5 is hitting 9.6/24 (40%).

Jamal and MPJ are throwing up around 7 threes each, Jokic and KCP are at 4 attempts and Gordon is at about 2. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

The problem with Denver is that they are really only 6 deep. We are at full strength and will be the 1st Team, that they've had to face at full strength.

I agree he had a terrible roster till the trades but even so he did not even come close to using to its fullest potential. He made a bad roster look even worse. Maybe that was the plan to force something to happen. Austin is starting now and has established himself as our third best player. He is playing well with the improved roster and Ham didn't start him with the bad one. His lineups and rotations were equally atrocious. But he has sure turned it around. Kerr was constantly having to make adjustments for Ham's strategies. He was one step ahead of Kerr pretty much the entire series and that isn't easy to do. I like that he isn't afraid to make daring moves. If we had lost game six after he changed the line up he would have been roasted. Our biggest weakness is becoming a strength.

He played whoever was available to him for the most part. Dennis was hurt coming out of camp. Reaves had a hammy, not to mention Lebron and AD had only played 22 games together before the Russ trade. I'm not sure how much differently he could have played it. We were still compettive against the good teams regardless of who we had.

I tend to agree with Slick here.

We still lose those games no matter who started or what rotations were made. Ham was literally begging for a shooter because no one could hit the broad side of a barn.

Ham can certainly still improve as a coach but he’s showing he can get it done when given pieces that fit.

I do not think so. I think we would have won an additional 2-4 games, which would have been huge, if he had played Austin more and handled rotations better. When Austin did play even that roster looked much better. That was one incredibly obvious move he didn't make. His coaching was suspect for most of the regular season. Even late some of the games we won were despite him but he is doing great now so all is forgiven...lol.

Yeah but GS has some soft players now and they need this type of support.

What I like about Ham is that he does NOT lose his composure but reminds the squad to always bear down on defense. No histrionics, no spewing of stats, no whining...

    Counters:

Start Rui. We can't go small against them.

No 3 guard lineup ever again this series.

AR needs to be on KCP or Murray, MPJ is too big for him.

If AD is on Joker: Do. Not. Double. Joker. He's killing you regardless, why let him have the option to score AND facilitate?

Ham’s idiotic insistence on playing small to start the game cost us. Start Rui, and bring Vando, Brown and possibly even Thompson off the bench.

Basically gave the game away with Schroeder starting: way too small on the glass, small guy rotating onto their shooters.
The only movement shooter they have is KCP off-ball, starting Schroeder isn't necessary.

Rui is tailor made for this matchup.

Hopefully we won’t start small again. Rui should start.

Adjusted a little too late with Schroder going over screens on Muray. Dennis might have to start over Dlo for this series.
