There should be a collective effort to pass him the ball in the air ..

When someone resorts to calling names at the opposing side’s argument, or the opponent themselves, they have just conceded said argument.

Still a great overall defensive game, esp at the end, but ZERO blocks? From Anthony MFin Davis? Ham's gotta find a way to get him back in the paint on D and living up to this thread title like he has all playoffs until now.

Yeah, I did feel the Warriors were pretty effective in scheming AD out of his most effective positions on defense, but I’m not too upset about the 0 blocks statline. Felt like he still got a lot of deflections that really disrupted the Warriors offense

Lebron rightfully targeted Curry on D for the whole 4th quarter

lol, you had to bastardize the statement to make it work. the argument itself is bad and ridiculous. i don't care who's making it. AD's fluctuations on offense aren't about the freaking tiger within or whatever. no matter how often drunk charles barkley repeats it (TNT postgame was terrible again last night, btw, citing the lakers' collective age as a problem--i mean, do facts bother you guys at all? we have one old player. the warriors run three of them for 40 minutes each).

i might need to watch again, but i think we made some mistakes in treating payton like he wasn't looney in a smaller body on offense.

on the other side, in the first half, gs didn't double AD, and they didn't attend closely to the screens we were setting for him. in the second half, they were having the screener basically hold him so he couldn't get a step on green and get to a spot. also, the attention there helped us run stuff on the opposite side of the floor. barkley after the game is like "i'd have just demanded the ball on the block". yeah, well you played back when there was illegal defense, so just setting up shop on the block was possible. it's so incredibly stupid.

Until the announcers had said AD only took 4 shots in the 2nd half I hadn't noticed which, for me anyway, is a good thing. All game we were getting good looks and for the most part we didn't just grind to a halt on offense. I am still baffled at Bron's insistence on doing that run down the clock and just chuck a 3 "dagger" play. But back to AD, I thought he focused more on D in the second half because GS was trying to run him down with the pick and rolls. I thought he adjusted and the team adjusted to GS game plan pretty well overall. AD was a beast imo again.

Really need to see him dominate tomorrow.

The defense is monstrous. He has a bad offensive game here and there, but I feel he always brings that smothering defense. Point guard or center, it doesn't matter, he's glued to them, altering their shots.

I watched Hakeem in 1994 during their run. I sorta remember everything in that playoff run but I don’t remember this kind of dominance on defense by an NBA player.

If the Lakers win it all, the 2023 Anthony Davis defensive run will be the best I’ve ever seen.

Reminded me of Olajuwon whom the Defensive Player Of The Year is named after. Given this season to someone else (rolls eyes).

That defense on Curry was other worldly! No 6’10-6’11 guy should be leveling off one of the most skilled ball-handlers in the NBA like that. Absolutely incredible.

I know this is a regular season award but come the f*** on

AD is currently playing the best post-season defense by a big since Hakeem during their title run.

He received 9 second team votes. Nine.

McDaniels received 25 more votes for the second team than AD did. You serious right now?

    Exactly. It's disgusting.

Yup. Out of 500 1st team votes available, he received ZERO. Out of all 1,000 votes available, just 9.

This year's award is a farce. Total traveshamockery.

Also, per cleaning the glass AD played 1% of his minutes this year as a PF. That's enough to list him as a forward?

Based on that logic, KD should be listed as a C. He played 3% of his minutes at that position.

To paraphrase Dr. Buss in the season finale of Winning Time, "congratulations. All the awards that don't matter."

AD's been a huge target in the press since he asked to go to la. it was doubly bad because espn told us for years he was going to their favorite team. speaking of, derrick white is first team all defense?
