I feel the same way about the Suns as I did about Boston in last years finals, relying on average 3pt shooters to win you games isn’t a recipe for success. Shamet going 5/8 from three isn’t sustainable. Meanwhile you expect MPJ and KCP to hit a few more than they did. Denver in 6.
Joker with 53 in a loss. What a shootout. Damn I hate PHO: their team, their owner, their fans, the entire state. Imagine how good Jokic would be if he was in shape. The first writer who ever described a fat dude running as "lumbering" was a true poet.
Jokic is fit though, he has pretty incredible stamina - guy is getting up and down the court quicker than other bigs. Just his body shape isn’t lean.
jokic is like luka, as svtzr said--he'll never be svelte, but he's in pretty decent shape. the primary way you can tell is that despite his appearance, he plays a lot of minutes and misses zero time. when i look at denver, i think the fact that michael porter can't produce more consistently is a problem. he's paid a bunch of money to be a consistent 2nd/3rd scorer, and because of murray and jokic, he gets to operate in isolation or catch and shoot more than other guys making that kind of cash. given that their bench isn't strong, it's noticeable when he's not putting up efficient points for them.
Jokic is in shape, he has great stamina, plays heavy minutes and usually does not miss many games. He's not overly muscular, but this works great for him.
Porter is like a cheap version of Klay , he's never seen a shot he doesn't like . The pull up 3 in transition down 3 when Jokic wasn't at halfcourt yet was a TERRIBLE decision
