This wasn't the case without a C. The LeBron (or Rui or Vando) at C lineup was -6 in this game and was one of the main reasons the Lakers lost, besides starting off poorly. This lineup was -11 in Game 1 and almost lost the Lakers that game too, if the closers didn't have a magical endgame.

Vando was +8 in the game, he wasn't the problem. After the initial -7 hole the Lakers put themselves into, he was +15. He works well with AD, Reaves, and DLo out there, along with Rui or LeBron. Better with Rui than LeBron in this series, actually. In Game 1, he was +3 when next to AD and that crew, but -7 when in the stupid Center-less lineup. The problem is the Center-less lineup, not Vando.

During the regular season games, Rui/LeBron/Bamba was a good frontcourt that went +15 in a small sample, 4 games of 6 min/gm, with a 116.1 o-rtg, 87.7 d-rtg, and +28.4 net-rtg. This should be tried now, when AD is out!

ETA: In particular, Schroder/Reaves/Rui/LeBron/Bamba was a really good lineup that went +10 with a 137.0 o-rtg, 93.1 d-rtg, and +43.9 net-rtg. Ham, please try this mainly bench lineup in the minutes that AD is out!

Also, to answer the response that now is not the time to suddenly try it - Bamba has been available since 4/6. Ham should have been working him back into the rotation ever since then. It is completely his fault that he hasn't. It compounds the problem to keep not trying, it just makes it worse. The best time was 2 weeks ago, the next best was every day since then, the next best is now. Can't just keep pushing it off.

It's a fair point but I think I'm just more sympathetic to the coaching staff.
They've had to re-introduce both Lebron and D.Lo who have been in out of the lineup.
Plus each game for the last month? have all been basically must-wins and Bamba is not some vet who knows his role. He's a young player with a lot of flaws still.
A real perfect storm in terms of integrating more players when the team is already 4 others guys doing the same plus injuries.

Also Vando is a real problem on offense: his +/- wasn't bad this game but his numbers have been awful many games due to his lack of floor spacing.
In this game he also had 2-3 dives/cuts where he was at the rim and he didn't have enough lift or just size to finish thru JJJ/Tillman - a vertical threat center would have really helped this game

Biggest problem I have with Ham is him being "Pig" headed about rotations and not flexible. Totally agree with above. Same thing with TT. Give them some some f****** burn at least in short minute doses. Let them get a feel so they can be available to use when this small, not a center, "center" s*** is not working and costing us the other team going on runs. Plus wearing the hell out of AD and LeBron. Even Gabriel can't get a sniff now. Same with Walker.

Especially when we have had 4 days off prior to the start of the series and 2 or more days between games played so far to ding ding ding .... practice with them and the whole team healthy.

Made zero adjustments on Ja when he had it going and still went with Rui on Jackson in the 2nd unit. When AD is out the game its a layup line.

Can't play Lebron the entire 4th either.

The Ja thing I'm more forgiving - they wanted to burn out clock and with Kennard instead of Brooks they're floor spacing was tough.
Defense was worse so with the lead, I think that was a risk I think Ham was willing to take.

Wasn't particularly happy with our offense for 3/4 of the game but we won fairly easily so I will take it.

Hachimura is killing it on offense and from deep STILL …. and looking seriously like a budding Kawhi Leonard lite and improving all the while and yeah like someone else said Ham’s like Nah I don’t need any more of that right now and takes him out too soon and gives him way too few minutes. WTF?

What did Lonnie do? Dude is in the dog house, all while Brown and Beas suck donkey balls.
This is Bryant on the Nuggets 2.0...

FO needs to go back on their no meddling promise and make him add Nurse to the staff next year next to Handy on the bench in the same way they picked Kidd for Vogel to have on his staff. With a great contract.

    ^ just like Westbrook wasn't?
How in the world playing Bron/Rui at the C isn't a problem?
    How is playing a 38yo entire 4th Q (again) not a problem?
How is giving Brown and Beas playing time while they suck not a problem?
Why not try Lonnie? Why not give TT some burn? Why not play Rui 5 more mins and give Bron a breather?
His in game adjustments are non existant.

I will say the one thing that annoyed me was no Reaves to finish the first half. No excuse for that and that cost the Lakers an opportunity to cruise for the second half

Ok, good job Ham on going back to what worked in G1, even if you went away from it in G2 for some reason.

I wonder if they'll take Tillman out and go small. Force AD out of the paint or to switch on JJJ.

The series of basically being dictated by AD. If he can roam it's over
